Dear parishioners and friends,
“Peace be with you”.
For our bulletin message this week, I would like to present some thoughts from Mr. Jeff Dunbar and Mr. Allen Kliebert regarding our Capital Campaign.
In the coming weeks the Capital Campaign Informational Packages will be mailed out to all St. Agnes parishioners. The packages contain information about the purpose and goals of our campaign. Please read the material and prayerfully consider your level of participation. It describes the different contribution options available to you. Then fill out and return the enclosed pledge envelope stating your level and frequency of giving during this campaign. The funding of this campaign is very important to our Catholic mission here at St. Agnes and will allow us to make necessary improvements to our existing facilities. We are in need of more efficient administrative office space, dedicated space for the formation of our youth, and meeting areas for parish ministries and events. Furthermore, the parish lacks contingency funds to cover emergencies or major repairs. The current level of Sunday collections is just enough to cover ongoing operating expenses. Therefore, we are seeking everyone’s participation no matter what level you choose to give. Please be as generous as possible to the capital campaign without reducing your current weekly giving, which is critical to St. Agnes’ ongoing operation. In a spirit of faith and trust, poor European farmers of the Middle Ages funded and built beautiful cathedrals (many of which still stand today). Let us go forth in the same spirit of confidence, trusting that Our Lord has good things in store for His beloved parish of St. Agnes. Thank you for your faithful presence, your continued support of St. Agnes and, most importantly your prayers.

St. Agnes Parish Adoration Chapel
“It is impossible in human terms to exaggerate the importance of being in adoration before the Eucharist as often and for as long as our duties and state of life allow.” ~ Fr. John Hardon. Come join our Lord in our beautiful and peaceful adoration chapel. Every hour is open for commitment. Call Traci Schott at 225-281-4300.
The Flag that flew over the US Capitol
“This is to certify that this flag was flown over the United States Capitol on November 16, 2108. At the request of the Honorable Bill Cassidy, US Senator, this flag was
flown for Fr. Charbel Jamhoury, in honor of the St. Agnes Catholic Church Parish Community.” It is with great joy and appreciation that we thank our new parishioners, Kirk and Lara Ryan, for having facilitated this marvelous tribute for our parish.
Membership Drive for the altar society
The Altar Society announces its annual membership drive began January 1st and will end February 10th. Dues are $20/year. Each additional member from the same household has a membership fee of only $5. Please pick up an envelope found in the little blue baskets on the tables by the entrances of the church. Be sure to complete all information requested, place your membership fee in the envelope and place the envelope in the collection basket. The Society is involved in many activities at St. Agnes and YOUR HELP IS NEEDED.
Capital Campaign Information Package
St. Agnes parishioners will be receiving a Capital Campaign information package with a pledge envelope enclosed describing different options for contributing in the postal mail in the coming days. Please give prayerful consideration about what level of contributions you can actively give to help finance the planned improvements to our facilities which will allow us to carry out our Catholic mission. The purpose of the campaign is clearly described in the package.
