LinkedIn is the world´s largest professional online, cloud-based network with currently more than 300,000,000 (300 million) users worldwide, and is constantly growing.

LinkedIn is useful for EVERY business professional, and for every business/organization.

- Personal and business branding, networking, finding prospects and business partners, knowledge sharing, benchmarking,

publishing, marketing and sales strategy, collaboration, job search, you name it!

Navigating on LinkedIn

Create a professional profile by considering following:

- Upload a fresh, authentic profile photo. - Write an appropriate headline - Write an appropriate summary, where you pinpoint the

integral activities which you are (currently) involved in. - Get at least three written recommendations from

professionals who you know, and who know your work. - Update your LinkedIn profile once in a while by letting your contacts know what you are up to. Knowledge sharing is

important in today´s professional world. - Showcase your creative work/projects on your LinkedIn page

by adding content on a regular basis.


How to network on LinkedIn

Start by connecting with people you know well professionally.

Do not accept invitations from professionals you do not know, with an exception if: You receive a personalized message and details about why you

should connect with the professional. You have checked the person´s professional LinkedIn profile

(and background). You can clearly see that you have mutual interests with the

person, and he/she has an appropriate profile, including written recommendations.


How to network on LinkedIn

Make sure to get connected to some of LinkedIn´s “Super users”, i.e. people who have an extensive experience on LinkedIn, including a credible profile, and network.

Ask for help and support from professionals

with real expertise from online networking.

Join LinkedIn´s best (networking) groups, through which you can easily connect with like-minded professionals.

What else?

Use your common sense on LinkedIn. Do not accept invitations blindly – or invite people blindly. There are a lot of fake profiles online, including on LinkedIn.

Prefer quality over quantity. Everyone can connect with thousands of people, and yes, a large network looks good, but also includes certain risks. Be aware of the pitfalls.

Be proactive. Do not expect people to come to you – instead, take action and approach professionals who are of interest to you/your business.
