OLDSMOBILE NATIONALS

Have you signed up for the 2012 Olds Nationals in Des Moines, IA? Here, too, your Oldsmobile will enjoy the comfort of an indoor event.

Join the other Olds enthusiasts for a bar-b-que dinner buffet on Thursday, July 5th and the banquet dinner on Saturday, July 7th. Also, take your Olds out to the track on Friday and Saturday for both a Nationals Drag Racing event and for a test and tune with race.

See your copies of the JWO for additional details for the Nationals event including hotel booking and contacts in the Oldsmobile Club of Iowa to answer your questions.

The May President’s Message

First is a big Congratulations to Diana and Kevin Beutelmann who have brought into this world a baby girl that I understand is eight pounds. I don't have any details yet but Diana is doing fine. Congratulations to the Beutelmann family.

The car season is officially started with the Easter Concourse De Elegance Car Show at Forest Park. We had 13 Oldsmobile's on display and thank you Ed and Jerry for the coffee and Gerald for the pastries. Hope everyone had a good time I know I did.

Sunday April 22nd was the Garage tour with the Buick Club and there were about 20 members from the Buick club and 20 members from the Olds club. We started at Barb's shop at 10:00 and it started to rain so lucky her shop is large enough that all attending were able to stay inside out of the rain. The other stops were better weather and the food at Los Cabos in New Melle was good. Hope you had a good time.

Our Tan-Tar-A car show registration is picking up. If you have not signed up please do so now and get your registration to Don.

Rich Carlson has an opportunity for the club to display a car on Saturday May 19th. This event is put on by the Camaro and Mustang car clubs and they are inviting other car clubs to attend an open house called Classic Cars and War Birds. This is an event with the Commemorative Air Force Missouri Wing held at St. Charles County Airport from 10:00AM to 3:00 PM. Lunch concession provided by EAA Chapter 32 at noon. This is a good relaxing time to see old planes do some low fly over’s and other open displays. Hope you can attend. Bring your Oldsmobile's and show them for a few hours. www.cafmo.org

Please mark down and keep open Saturday August 4th we need your help at the Troy Missouri Car Show. Please plan to attend as early as you can and help the club run this car show. Lunch is provided for you. Then we recuperate At Dan's place afterwards.

Hope to see you at our next meeting on Tuesday May 8th after 6:00 PM. Meeting starts promptly after 7:00 PM sometime.

ARCHWAY CLUB BIGGEST LOSER CONTEST

The losers are trying to see who can gain the most weight. It will likely be a challenge to see which contestant will maintain their weight versus actually losing any ounces. Stay tuned!

FOR SALE: 72 Olds 88/98 parts,I have: 1 front bumper, 2 of the fiberglass front ends with headlights and grills in them, 2 extra front grills, 1 fiberglass front end but it is not whole, 1 new radiator hose 350 motor (can't remember if it is top or bottom), 2 headlight trim rings, 2 parking/turn light housings, 2 chrome trim pieces for front end(don't know where they go), about 6 headlights high and low beam, I used to have 2 72 Olds.These parts have been in my garage for the last 20-25 years. I would take a reasonable offer $ for these parts.It all goes together.

April 2011 Meeting Minutes

Meeting was held April 10, 2012 - 7:22pm at Sports Café in Bridgeton

Club membership roosters and Archway Club Cards are available

We have several fliers to pass out: for the Mid Missouri show (Tan Tar A), the Troy Car

Show and the MOT Fun Show in September. Please take some and distribute to others

Please get registrations in for the June 1st , 2nd , 3rd Mid-Missouri Car Show at Tan Tar A

if attending.

New Business

We are in need of judges for the Troy Car Show

2013 OCA Nationals in Springfield news: the committees we volunteered for are the

Banquet Dinner, Ladies Luncheon and center pieces get ready, trophies and dash

plaques , trips and event coordinators, trailer parking and tabulators. And the promotional

page is completed and passed on to Steve Mestad and accepted.

Saturday May 19th at Smart Field is a car display and old planes from the

Commemorative Air Force Open House the time of the show is 10-3pm

The club will again participate in the Kids Card Program at the Museum of Transportation

all Oldsmobile Fun Show the date is September 30th 2012. This year the five participants

are Jerry, Doc, Bruce, Larry and Ed

50/50 winner was picked

Meeting adjourned at 8:20.

Next meeting is May 9th at 7:00 pm at Sports Café in Bridgeton
