Operating Mode

The mechanical vertical bar screen Screentec can be installed in many applications includingHeadworks, Lift Stations, Deep Wells and Manholes. Due to its vertical design, Screentec can retrofitany kind of structure with minimal or no changes.

1 The Rake, set up ona sturdy belt, movesdownward following2 guide rails on eachside of the frame.

2 The Rake collects allthe screenings stuckby the bar screen.

3 The Rake goes up,lifting up all thecollected screenings.

4 Screenings areejected in a washercompactor Compactecor in a dumpster.

Features & Benefits

With a 90° angle installation, Screentec can fitin any kind of structure, up to 50’ deep.

Screentec does not have moving parts at thebottom of the frame. The weekly maintenancewill only consist of a visual check of the topframe. The access is safe since operators canopen the secure hood from the grate level.

The frame of the vertical bar screen is com-pletely enclosed. Adding a washer compactorCompactec with a bagger system will maintaintotal odor control. Screentec can be installed inresidential areas without risk of odor complaints.

Deep Well 

1. Mendocino, California

Solution: With its vertical design,Screentec fits into narrow and deepstructures such as the Mendocinodeep well.

Context: The Headwork’s structure is complex with a 12’ deep well. Inside, 2 narrow channels(1 communitor - 1 grinder) dealing with a peak flow of 1mgd.

Lift Station

2. The Lower Township, New Jersey

Context: This lift station has an inlet pipe and a manual rack. Daily maintenance is required tomanually remove the debris.

Solution: Screentec will be installedright at the influent inlet. No structuralchanges are required and the existingmanual rack will be used as the over-flow back up.

3. City of St. John’s, Washington

Solution: Screentec fits right into theexisting channel.

Manhole

4. City of Orange, France

Solution: To protect the pumps, theonly solution was to install themechanical bar screen ahead of theirpumps.

Screentec is installed into theirmanhole, collecting all the debrisprior to reaching the pumps.
