“Beat the Heat”
Just a few tips and reminders as we go into the HOT summer months. Stay Hydrated, DRINK, DRINK, DRINK.
We have placed several hydration stations throughout the community for your enjoyment and convenience.
Remember to be sure that your air conditioner is ON, especially the fan. We need to keep the air circulating and the air conditioner being on helps with
the humidity. Limit the amount of time you spend out in the sun and heat, be sure that
you make time to step inside and cool off when you plan outdoor activities. Wear a hat for protection from the sun.
If you are not feeling well after being out in the heat, please notify the healthcare team so that they can assist.
Let all stay safe and healthy!

I was born in Hoboken, New Jersey, to Italian immigrants Natalina, from Northern Italy, and Saverio, a Sicilian boxer, fireman, and bar owner. Grow-ing up on the gritty streets of Hoboken made this me determined to work hard to get ahead. Starting out as a salon singer in musty little dives, I eventually got work as a band singer, first with The Hoboken Four, then with Harry James and then Tommy Dorsey. With the help of George Evans, my image was shaped into that of a street thug and punk who was saved by my first wife, Nancy. In 1942 I started my solo career, instantly finding fame as the king of the bobbysoxers.

Arm raises
It may seem simple, but rais-ing your arms – and adding resistance with a light weight – is an easy way to build upper body strength. Using light hand weights or everyday items, such as books or a full water bottle.
Leg raises
Be sure to use a chair for bet-ter balance while doing leg raises. Holding on to the chair at your side, lift the opposite leg out to the side, keeping the heel and hip aligned and a slight bend in the supporting leg. Then, return your raised leg back to a standing posi-tion.
Walking
As seniors age, regular walk-ing can help maintain a level of endurance, which can make everyday activities like grocery shopping and gardening that much easier.
