Annual Sports Meet on Thursday,

October to 08th

October 2016. It was the grandest and the most awaited event in the

academic calendar. The dignitaries present on the occasion included Shri. Lov Verma, IAS,

Ex Secretary, Mo H & FW, GOI, Ex Secretary, Mo SJ & E, GOI as the Hon’ble Chief

Guest and Mr. Pushpender Rawat, an International Referee & Gold Medallist in Karate

(Black Belt V DEN in Karate & Martial Arts) as Guest of honor, Principal Dr. K Kamal,

CAO Cmdr. B K Gupta, AO Shri. N S Manoj Kumar, Committee Chairman Dr. R S

Jagdeesh and PED Mr. Girish B E. The meet was organised on such a large scale that it

became the talk of everybody in and around.

The three days ceremony commenced with the arrival of the Guests escorted by the smartly

attired Guard of Honour. The programme began with the Saraswati Vandana followed by

the wide array of colourful events such as Group dance and the self defence demonstration

by the students of our guest of honor Mr. Pushpender Rawat.

ANNUAL SPORTS MEET MYTHRI 2016-17

JSS Academy of Technical Education, Noida

The meet started with a beautiful display of parade by the student coordinators of 13

different teams marching on the drum beats with colorful flags. This was followed by oath

ceremony. A part of it is reproduced for the benefit of readers “In the name of all the

competitors we promise that we shall take part in the sports meet, respecting and

abiding by the rules which govern them, committing ourselves to a sport in the true

spirit of sportsmanship, for the glory of sport and the honor of our teams”.

The event was marked by lighting of the torch by the guest of honor Mr. Pushpender Singh

Rawat who handed it to Physical Education Director who in turn passed it to senior student

Ms. Aishwarya Civil Engineering dept. (She has represented State Level Badminton

Tournament) who carried it to the play ground to pass it to five other senior State and Zonal

level Participated students. The torch finally reached Hon’ble Chief Guest Shri. Love Verma

who lit the ceremonial Lamp and administered the athletes, thereafter declaring the Meet

open, amidst thunderous applause.

The sports meet was declared open by Mr. Lov Verma who in his speech said that it is the

vision of the academy to develop creative multi talented students. He also advised to

inculcate sense of initiative and self management skill amongst the students. He greeted the

gathering with sports related questions, and awarded for right answers which filled the

gathering with enthuthiasim.

While addressing the gathering the Chief Guest said, ‘It’s heartening to see the student’s

interest through participating in extra-curricular activities. Prof. K Kamal, the Principal and

AO Shri. N S Manoj Kumar presented the shall and memento to the Chief Guest. Cmdr. B K

Gupta CAO and Dr. R S Jagdish presented the shall and memento to the Guest of Honor.

Lastly senior students proposed a vote of thanks and further complimented the Prof. K

Kamal, the Principal, CAO Cmdr. B K Gupta, specially the PED Mr. Girish B E including

Mr. N S Manoj AO, Dr. S.S Shirur Registrar, Dr. R.S Jagadish Committee Chairman, Mr.

Vikas Singhal, Dr. Yogendra Singh, Dr. Roli Verma, Dr. Prashant Chauhan and Ms. Praveen

Poon Tarang Executive and Inaugural committee, all Faculty coordinators, all HOD’s, all

students and the ancillary staff without whose efforts the event could not have been

successful.

Hon’ble Chief Guest Mr. Lov Verma along with the Principal Prof. K Kamal, CAO Cmdr. B

K Gupta, AO Mr. N S Manoj Kumar, sports chairman Prof. R S jagdeesh, PED Mr. Girish B

E, and others boosted the confidence of the students by clapping in 100m race, students’ wild

cheers rent the air, thereafter proceeding to the football ground where MR. Pushpender Rawat

guest of honor inaugurated the football match to mark the start of the first event by kicking

the ball.

The students showcased their multifaceted talents in various events like Badminton, Table

Tennis, Carom, Chess, Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Basket ball, Tug of war, Kabaddi,

Three legged race, 100 mts running race, 4X 100 Relay Race, shot put.

It was a mega event and it culminated by the award ceremony where the students were

awarded with trophies and certificates by the dignitaries.
