CAREER HISTORY
I negotiated a departure from Westpac (via redundancy) at the end of December 2015 and I’m currently investigating FinTech start-‐‑up and consulting opportunities.
WESTPAC BANKING CORPORATION – HEAD OF COMPLIANCE, GROUP SERVICES
2012 to December 2015 I led the transformation of the Compliance function at Westpac. This included the development and implementation of new frameworks, standards, processes and software. This also included the deployment of compliance plans (which document regulatory obligations and controls) globally, across 128 divisions of the bank. At the conclusion of the transformation I took over the management of Compliance for the Group Services and Core divisions (Technology, Operations, Finance and H.R). These divisions account for around 12,000 employees. I was responsible for breach identification, determination and regulator reporting. I also led business programs to improve regulatory compliance and respond to regulatory change. This work provided me with the valuable experience of first fixing, then transforming and ultimately running the Compliance business unit.
