Ancillary Product Feedback-

Poster

Question 1 –Do you think my film poster is conventional for a

horror?

From the 10 responses I received from my target audience based on my ancillary poster, all of them said that the poster I have created is conventional for a horror genre due to the content used. From receiving 100% for ‘Yes’ I am able to see clearly that there is nothing that needs to be changed to ensure that it is conventional as it already meets the criteria.

Question 2- Why?

When I asked my target audience why they found my poster conventional, there were many reasons. The most common one being the layout and colours that have been used throughout. There were also comments about the image that I chose to use and how it is conventional within my poster. This positive feedback again tells me that there are no major changes that need to be made to make sure that my poster is conventional to both form and genre.

Question 3- What would you rate the image used? (1-Poor, 5-Good)

From the 10 responses I received from my target audience based upon the image I have chosen to use, I can see that there could be some slight changes made to the image that is used as a main focus within my poster. I can see this because 60% of my target audience said that the image that I used was really good. However, 40% disagreed and said that there could be some slight changes made. I am going to ensure that my poster reaches its potential by adding more editing techniques.

Question 4- What would you rate the font styles used? (1-Poor, 5-Good)

From the responses I received based upon the font styles I have chosen to use, I can see that there could be some slight changes made to the them to ensure that they are more conventional and not too repetitive within the poster also. I am going to carry out more font style research to ensure that my target audience are attracted to the poster and therefore the film.

Question 5- What would you rate the layout of the poster? (1-Poor, 5-Good)

From the 10 responses I received based upon the layout of my ancillary movie poster, I can see that I might have to shuffle things around a bit to ensure that the form is conventional. To do this I am going to further research other successful movie posters to help me adapt mine for its full potential. I do not think there is a lot of changes that need to be made though due to the lowest rating I received was 4, which is still quite good.

Question 6- Rate the colours used on the poster? (1-Poor, 5-Good)

From the feedback I received on the colour scheme used on my poster, I can see that I could use more interesting colours that are a bit bolder but are still conventional also. I can see this as the lowest rating I received was 3, although this was only 10% (1 person) I want to ensure that my poster appeals to all of my target audience so I can make a few changes.

Question 7- What improvements could be made?

When I gained feedback from my target audience based on what improvements could be made, I received a variety of answers. The main one was based on colours, saying that I could maybe change the purple to red to ensure that the poster is of highest standard. Overall, the feedback that I received was positive and allows me to see the slight changes that will need to be made to ensure that the whole of my target audience are interested in the advertisement.
