TASK SEQUENCE – Dust Mop FloorSTANDARD: To maintain the cleanliness of the floorEQUIPMENT: Dust Mop / Scrapper / Dustpan & BroomCHEMICAL: Multi-Purpose CleanerPROCEDURE

Prepare dust mop and chemical.

The floor must be dust mopped every shift.

Remove any chewing gum with scrapper.

Spray chemical onto the floor or dust mop.

Sweep using a continuous stroke (straight or figure 8), overlapping passes. Ensure mop head is in contact with floor at all times and a leading edge. Sweep under heavy furniture, move lighter furniture and replace.

Use dustpan and broom in corners to collect debris.

When finished, remove debris from the floor with dustpan and broom. Clean dust mop with dry vacuum cleaner. When dirty, wash mop sweeper head, rinse and hang to dry.

Prepare a clean mop, mop bucket and an appropriate signboard (Wet Floor/Cleaning In Progress)

Sweep the floor also underneath chairs / tables / clothes rack, so that it is free from rubbish. Spot clean stubborn dirt and remove stain if there is any.

In one bucket, prepare Multi-Purpose Cleaner and fill up second bucket with clean water for rinsing. Ensure bucket are behind line of work.

Start from the furthest end first and mop towards you. Mop using a figure 8 stroke with each pass overlapping. Leave floor as dry as possible.

After mopping the floor, remove mop head from handle, wash and allow to dry. If re-assemble, store head up. Wash bucket, wipe and store upside down.

Prepare a dry vacuum cleaner and an appropriate signboard (Cleaning In Progress)

Pick up any large or sharp items by hand before suction cleaning and placed them into small plastic bag.

To remove light furniture, clothes rack before vacuuming and place back after vacuumed. Ensure underneath table / cloth rack / edges are vacuumed.

Cover the area systematically, giving more attention to heavily trafficked areas, edges and corners.

After finished vacuuming, to empty the vacuum bag and recoil machine cable. Clean equipment and check for safety.

The vacuum cleaner is not to be left unattended in public area; if not in use. The vacuum cleaner must be stored in the equipment storeroom.

TASK SEQUENCE – How to Use Vacuum CleanerSTANDARD: To Use the Vacuum Cleaner with the Proper WayPROCEDURE

Prepare all the accessories such as universal nozzle suction hose tube or any at the above accessories before starting work.

Check and ensure that the vacuum cleaner is in good condition as plugs and cable.

Before switching on the machine, ensure that the cotton filter is in correct position.

Pick up all paper trash and large rubbish also sharp items.

Start to vacuum from the back of the door; ensure electrical wire at vacuum cleaner is behind you.

Move in even, back and forward strokes and continue until the area is completed.

Switch off power and check the cleanliness of the carpet surface.

The vacuum cleaner is not to be left unattended in public area; if not in use. The vacuum cleaner must be stored in the equipment storeroom.

TASK SEQUENCE – Cleaning Vacuum FilterPROCEDURE

Cleaning should be done weekly.

Check and ensure that the vacuum cleaner is in good condition.

Remove top portion of the unit.

Take out the vacuum bag and vacuum filter.

Wipe the inner vacuum with damp cloth and dry cloth before replaced the new vacuum bag.

Replaced the top portion of the vacuum and wipe it with damp cloth then dry cloth.

Then wipe the whole outer vacuum body and the wire cord.

Turn off the escalator.

Placed the signboard on both sides of the escalator.

Start cleaning the entire track by using the grouting brush or escalator machine.

If there is any stubborn stain as chewing gum on the track, use a scrapper to scrap it.

Use a dry vacuum cleaner to clear all dirt.

Use a lamb wool and squeegee to clean up entire glass panel.

CHEMICAL: Toilet Cleaner Multi-Purpose Cleaner Air Freshener PROCEDURE

Placed signboard in front of toilet entrance.

Spray all toilet bowls/urinal bowls with Toilet Cleaner. Allow chemical re-act.

Collect all rubbish and clean dustbin.

Take out all supplies (consumable) to avoid wet or damage during cleaning.

Clear / remove cobwebs at ceiling edges, exhaust fan cover and light covers.

Clean wall tiles, scrub wall with scouring pad (white/red) and Multi-Purpose Cleaner.

Rinse wall with clean (cold) water. Wipe with dry cloth.

Clean skirting, door frame, toilet paper holder, hand dryer, switches at the same time.

Check toilet bowl and urinal bowl before flushing, should be there any hard debris, remove it before flushing. Every toilet bowl and urinal bowl should be flushed.

Clean toilet bowl/urinal bowl starting from inner section under the rim with toilet brush.

While cleaning the particular toilet bowl, ensure that equipment’s

are placed inside the cubical, not outside.

Use a used toothbrush to clean hinges, basin drainage hole and overflow hole.

Clean toilet seat cover, flush, sides of toilet bowl with scouring pad and Multi-Purpose Cleaner.

Rinse with water and wipe dry.

Wash soap dispenser, wash basin, vanity counter, faucet, overflow hole with Multi-Purpose Cleaner. Rinse and wipe dry.

Spray Glass Cleaner on mirror surface and wipe it using dry cloth.

Open drainage cover and clean it by using scouring pad (red).

Wet the floor and spray Multi-Purpose Cleaner and by using deck brush with handle, scrub the floor or using scrubbing machine. Pushed the water using floor squeegee (water pusher).

If dustbin is ¾ full, remove and tie securely. Clean dustbin, inside and outside. Line bin with new garbage bag.

Dry the floor by using wind blower or dry mop. Touch up any unsatisfactory area.

Replenished consumable – toilet tissue (JRT), hand soap.

Check hand dryer and ensure its functioning.

Spray freshener at all corners only.

Take a last look to ensure that toilet is clean, dry, sufficient supplies and odor free.

Clean bucket, cloth, tools and equipment after using. Ensure equipment always clean and water changed frequently so that the floor not smells.

TASK SEQUENCE – Clean Refuse Receptacle

EQUIPMENT: High-pressure machine / Floor Squeegee / Deck Brush Signboard / Face Mask / Rubber Boots CHEMICAL: Degreaser Multi-Purpose Cleaner PROCEDURE

Placed signboard.

Ensure that personal protective equipment are properly worn.

Check high-pressure machine: Machine cables, inlet water hose, outlet high pressure water hose, pressure setting and water tap coupling.

Assemble high pressure machine.

If cleaning in an enclosed area, waterproof any electrical switches and wall sockets.

Remove grills cover drain or gulley. Check gulley and drain, remove any debris or large litter. This is to ensure smooth flow of water when washing.

Apply cleaning solution onto drain or gulley walls. Allow chemical to work for at least 5 to 10 minutes.

Aim splash gun at inside wall of drain at an angle 60 to 80 degrees to floor. Replace grill cover after cleaning.

Switch off machine and remove plug from socket before dismantling machine.

Clean machine after use. Ensure that all water hoses are dried, coil water hose properly before storing.

TASK SEQUENCE – How to Handle Floor Machine (Scrubbing) PROCEDURE CHECKING & ASSEMBLING MACHINE

Release full length of electrical cable.

Always ensure the machine shaft is in upright position, then tilt machine base plate upwards, lowering shaft to the floor.

Fix on pad holder or brushes from the top base plate, with the base between your feet and the pad holder/brush.

Fill up chemical with shaft upright. Never fill up chemical more than ¾ full.

Adjusting the machine to your working height (around your hip level).

PROCEDURE FOR HANDLING MACHINE

Start machine away from doors, glass panel or furniture.

Always hold machine lightly with both hands. Allow machine to move hover before moving off.

Operate machine in straight sideward motions. Do not swing machine from side to side.

Manage cable while running machine. Never step on cable while operation machine and never allow cable to become taut.

Do not place cable over shoulder.

Move machine along in a slow and steady manner. Release chemical in small squirts.

Do not over-wet floor when working. Run machine to and fro in systematic manner.

Always run machine over floor area overlapping passes. Upon stopping machine, return shaft to upright position.

Always switch off and unplug machine when not in use. Remove drive plate on completion of job.

Clean machine after use and recoil cable properly.

TASK SEQUENCE – Wall CleaningEQUIPMENT: 2 buckets / Scrapper / Small Ladder / Scouring Pad (white) Masking Tape (to cover electrical sockets) / Rubber Gloves Signboard / Rag Cloth CHEMICAL: Multi-Purpose Cleaner PROCEDURE

Check equipment before using. Place the signboard at prominent place.

Cover electric sockets with masking tape and place plastic sheeting next to wall, if required.

Check the wall to be cleaned. Remove stickers using scrapper and graffiti. When there are graffiti that cannot be removed, report to management.

Prepare 1 bucket of chemical and fill up 2/3 clean water and 1 bucket of clean water.

Start cleaning wall from bottom to upwards. Use scouring pad (white) in circular motions, moving horizontally.

Rinse the wall with clean water from top to bottom. Use cloth and rinse wall horizontally.

Remove masking tape and all equipment from work site.

Clean all equipment before keep it back to store.

TASK SEQUENCE – Window/Glass CleaningEQUIPMENT: Lamb Wool / Window Squeegee / Rectangular Bucket / Microfiber Cloth - blue / Extension Pole / Rubber Gloves / Signboard CHEMICAL: Glass Cleaner PROCEDURE

Placed signboard at appropriate place.

Check glass surface if any scratches or stains before proceed.

Prepare glass cleaner according to its dilution.

Dip water applicator into diluted chemical. Remove and squeeze off excess chemical. Ensure that water applicator not dipping wet before using.

When using a squeegee, make it vertical stroke from top to bottom at one side of pane then use zig-zag stroke across the pane horizontally. Finally finish with a straight vertical stroke down each edge of pane.

If glass is beyond reachable, attached squeegee onto extension pole. Placed squeegee at top of glass panel, blade flat onto glass surface with handle as close to glass surface as possible.

After finished, wash all equipment and rinse it with clean water. Allow it to dry and keep it to cleaner store.

Empty all waste baskets, change liner if necessary.

Wipe all office desk and sanitize telephone.

To re-arrange documents and files, if files lying on the desk. Stack it and arrange neatly.

Where the telephone cord gets twisted, unwind as you clean.

Wipe chairs, starting from armrest, back of chair and legs.

Wipe partitions and walls. Dust wall fixtures and fittings. Clean duster using a damp cloth when the duster have dust on it.

If floor carpeted, check any spillage and stains, remove as they are spotted.

If the floor is tiled, mop floor systematically when all other work in the office done. Ensure to place signboard during floor mopping.

Check through office area that has been cleaned. Touch up any missed out area or unsatisfactory area.

Wash mop heads thoroughly after used. Empty vacuum bag and clean all tools and equipment before stored it at cleaner room.
