Advocacy Groups
These groups advocate for a variety of social issues.
Social Issue Organizations
They are similar to advocacy groups but“have more broadly defined…goals”(p. 380).
-Visible & Active
Advocacy & Social Issue Groups
Both of these use a variety of PR methods.
Advocacy Groups
The main methods that they use are:-Lobbying-Litigation-Demonstrations-Boycotts-Reconciliation
Social Service Organizations
Between looking up definitions & readingthe text, I came to some conclusions…
Social Service Organizations
They are easy to define in general terms…
-They offer services and advocacy
-They “include social service, philanthropic, cultural, and religious groups” (p. 382)
Social Service Organizations
But they are sometimes hard to define inspecific terms.
-Most are nonprofit
-However, some cultural organizations receive government funds. (e.g. Smithsonian)

There main methods are: -Publicity-Events-Promoting Services-Educational Material-Newsletters
