Set Up Your Site

Teachers can start using Reading Plus with students once you have set up your site.Log in to your Administrator Dashboard at login.readingplus.com.

Enter Staff NamesPress the Staff tab

• Press +Add Teacher• Enter the name of the staff member• Enter the staff member’s email

address, and create a username and password (Recommended: Use email as the username)

• Press Save• Press Back

Create the ClassesPress the Classes tab

• Press +Create Class• Enter a name for the class

(Recommended: Teacher name and class period. For example, Lerner P5) and press Save

• Press +Assign • Select teacher to assign by

pressing the name of the teacher• Press X to close• Press Back to return to Classes tab

to create another new class

Print Staff Usernames and Passwords

• Press the Reports tab• From the dropdown on the

Site Reports tab, select Staff Usernames & Passwords Report

• Press Print Preview

Ensure Students Were ImportedPress the Students tab to ensure that student names appear on your Student Roster. If you did not import your students, visit www.readingplus.com/imports for instructions about preparing your student import file so your students' names can be imported into your site’s Student Roster.

Expect ProgressCheck your Site Instructional Summary Report regularly to ensure that students in all classes are making expected or significant progress. Students make expected progress when they earn Combos (two consecutive SeeReader lessons with comprehension scores of 80% or higher) according to typical success measures.

Set Assignment Exception WeeksYou can define school-wide assignment exception weeks for any weeks that all students are not expected to complete Reading Plus assignments. These are weeks such as vacation or testing weeks.

• Press the Site tab• Press Calendar Settings• Press the Set Weekly Assignment

Exceptions link to access the assignment exceptions calendar

• Scroll to find the week you will define as an exception

• Press on the week• Add a description to note the reason for

the exception week• Press Apply• To remove a week, press Reset

Expected Progress

If Insufficient Use ( ) is detected, view bar graphs below to identify classes needing additional support.

Make Sure All Classes are SuccessfulView the number of students active in the SeeReader program, alongside the percentage of students within each class making significant or expected progress.

If a class displays insufficient use, the teacher may need support with his or her implementation. Press on the class name to view more detailed class data.

Insufficient Use

Provide Appropriate SupportIdentify classes that show insufficient use on the Site Instructional Summary Report and provide the teachers of those classes with appropriate support.

Possible Explanations

Insufficient UseStudents are not completing all of their assigned SeeReader lessons.

Teacher does not make adequate time for Reading Plus

Help teacher find time for Reading Plus in his or her weekly schedule

Teacher and students are not prioritizing SeeReader

Teachers can remind students to work in SeeReader first whenever they log in

Require students to complete all assigned SeeReader lessons

Enrolled students are no longer using Reading Plus or have left the class

Remind teacher to unenroll students who are not using the program

Teacher is not logging in to Teacher Dashboard to complete weekly monitoring

Encourage teacher to log in to the Teacher Dashboard at least once per week to monitor lesson completion

Students and teacher are not held accountable

Ask teacher to submit Class Expected Progress Report every two weeks

Review Reading Plus during weekly staff meetings

Computer technology is insufficient or malfunctioning

Ensure teacher has enough computers to serve all Reading Plus students

Contact school tech support or Reading Plus tech support
