We are indeed very happy that the Twenty seventh Newsletter of our college is released with the co-operation of our Colleagues.

The memory of our Beloved Founder “Vidhiya Seva Ratna” Thiru. A.D.Jeya Veera Pandiya Nadar was commemorated on 09.12.15. Floral Homage was paid to the founder by the staff members and students.

Members of the faculty and students commemorated the memory of our municificant founder by paying glorious tribute in their spirited speech.

The Department arranged for an Industrial Visit on 12.02.2016. 50 Students &7 Staff members visited the Neyveli Lignite Corporation Neyveli to know about its functioning. During the visit the student had gathered information about the process of digging out Lignite from the mines and how thermal power is produced.

Department of Economics Conducted Speaker’s Forum on 18. 01.2016 in this meeting the students eagerly participated by expressing different views on different topics .The staff members corrected their mistakes.

Career Guidance and Placement Cell organized one day training programme on a “Interview Skills” on 11.12.2015. the resource person was Dr.T. Sukumar , Head IT Department, EGS Pillay Arts and Science College, Nagapattinam. All the final year science students attended the programme.

He gave Training on Interview Skills, Soft Skills, Attitude , Aptitude , Time Management etc. He also clarified the doubts raised by the students.

Career Guidance and Placement Cell organized a training programme on 11.12.2015 . “ Employment Opportunities “,the resource persons were, Thiru. K. Kesavan, Employment Officer , Nagapattinam. Thiru. Srinivasan, Junior Employment Officer, Thiru. Muniyandi, Junior Employment Officer and Thiru. Sengottuvam, Trainer. They gave detailed information regarding employment opportunities available at the state level , central level and details about various Competitive examination like NET, SLET, TNPSC, UPSC, Railway etc. Finally Model question papers were also distributed to the students.

Rotaract Club volunteers of our college actively participated in the Socio-economic awareness programmes like Blood Donation camp, Human Chain, Ralleys and Women Empowerment programmes jointly organized by the Rotary Club of Nagapattinam. The volunteers are encouraged to extend their social service for the development of the community. Village Adaption

NCC Cadets Participated in the one day Voters Day Program on 12th

January 2015 at our adapted village Anthanapettai, Nagapattinam District . About 30 NCC Cadets participated in the one day program.

In the afternoon session from 2.00 P.M the NCC Cadets offered many cultural activities to insist the awareness of voting rights to the village people.

Our NSS Unit I & II Participated in the one day Sapling Plantation Programme on 23rd December 2015 around the college premises at Cooks Nagar. About 25 NSS Volunteers participated in the programme. Principal Dr.L.Megala presided over the function. The area municipal councilor Mrs.A.Ranjitham inaugurated the program by planting the saplings. The volunteers planted the saplings around the Cooks Nagar and watered the saplings daily. The Program was organized by NSS Program Officers of Unit I & II Dr.C.J. Pricilla and Mrs. G. Anbarsi.

NIC training was given to 2 cadets at Gwalior from 26.10.2015 to 06.11.2015. 22cadets participated in the Republic Day parade held at DistrictCollectorate, Nagapattinam on 26.01.2016. On 27.02.2016 16 cadets attended the ‘B’ certificate Examination and10 cadets attended the examination for ‘C’ certificate.

The 67th Republic day was celebrated on 26.01.2016 at Anthanapattai. School Head Master Mr. S.Ramalingam welcomed the gathering. The village president Mrs. H.Fathima Jinna presided over the function Dr. T.Vasugi hoisted the National flag and spoke about the sacrifice of our freedom fighters and the role of youth in making India a strong nation. Dr. S. Angelina Glorita Parimala offered felicitation.

G.Sasikala participated in National Level Take Won Do competition and got 1st

place held at Hariyana on 31.12.2015.

Our student participated in Districy Level Chief Minister’s trophy at District Stadium, Nagapattinam on 27.011.2015 and won Rs. 20,000 cash award.

S.Gangadevi III B.Com participated in All India inter university Handball tournament at Aalagappa university, Karaikudi on 06.01.2015

Counseling Cell is executed for the welfare of the students and it recommends guidelines to ensure better academic performance. Wellbeing measures are. Faculty members in the counseling cell help to reduce the dropout ratio. On 07.01.2016 a one day seminar was arranged by the cell and Mrs. K.Muththachi, Advocate, & Mrs. Malarmalai, Advocate were the special guest and gave a lecture on “Vizhithiru”
