What is Facility Management (FM)?

Facility Management is a management method that energizes the activities of facility users by improving functionality and reducing the life cycle cost relating to management and operation of facilities and their surrounding enviranment.

PHILOSOPHY[Management Principle]

The founding of the company was triggered by a terrible �re, which is considered the worst accident in the history of building �res in Japan, the Sennichi Department Store Building Fire on May 1972.*1 Out of a desire to ensure such a terrible accident never happened again, we acquired expert knowledge and technology relating to building management, and worked with a "desire to pursue safety in buildings, and provide an environment where customers can visit feeling secure." A building maintenance department branched off of the Nichii retail business, which resulted in the birth of the company that was the predecessor to our present company.

After integrating with several other companies, AEON delight was born in 2006, founded with the initial intent of providing a safe and secure environment for facilities that resulted in the management philosophy of “We will continue to create ‘environmental value’ of clients and local communities.” The environmental value creation we pledge is to create an environment where people can enjoy peace and abundance. Under this management philosophy, we have developed a facility management business that supports customer growth by providing optimal services related to management and operating of facilities and their surrounding environments in Japan, China, and Asean.

Our society currently faces several challenges. In addition, companies are increasingly expected to act as players in resolving social issues as exempli�ed by SDGs*2. In addition to our original goal of growing as a company and developing as a society as an "environmental value-creating company," with these expectations in mind, we have decided to work towards resolving the following three social issues: “Safety and Security," “Labor shortage" and “Environment."

In October of 2018, we created the Aeon delight Vision 2025 and made a pledge: "Aiming to be an environmental value-creating company in Asia that resolves social issues based on ‘Safety and Security,' ‘Labor shortage,' and ‘Environment.'" As the three pillars of its growth strategies.

Based on this Aeon delight Vision 2025, our company will continue to create an environment where people living in Asia can enjoy peace and abundance through our business activities, and we hope to continue to be an indispensable part of customers and local communities.

*1:The Sennichi Department Store Fire: This �re, which occurred in May 1972 was the worst department store �re in Japan’s history. A �re broke out near the bedding sales area of the Nichii Sennichi-mae branch store that was a tenant in the building. The �re shutters and escalator �re dividers were not closed, and poisonous gas and smoke �lled each �oor. The elevators stopped moving, and customers and employees who had no way to escape panicked and as a result the �re expanded into a catastrophe with great loss of life.

*2:SDGs refers to the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) to be achieved by 2030 as de�ned by the UN summit as part of the Action Plan for Humanity, the Earth, and Prosperity. The cooperation of all players has been called for, including private companies and civil society.

In order to do so, we will constantly evolve safety, security, cleanliness,

and comfort to walk towards a "future with dreams."

We Pursue the Creation of “Environmental Value”for our Customers and for the Local Communities.

A series of natural disasters have occurred in recent years, and as a company with the mission of providing “safety, security, and comfort” through facilities and their surrounding environment, we support customers’ BCPs* in order to minimize damage during a disaster. We also offer development support for disaster prevention and disaster reduction systems in times of peace. Additionally, we continue to evolve “Safety and Security.” by actively introducing technology such as AI, IoT, and robots.*Business Continuity Plan. This is a plan in order for businesses to continue to operate under unexpected circumstances, and resume services quickly if interrupted.

Our company follows parent company AEON CO., LTD’s goal to reduce CO2 and other emissions to zero with AEON Decarbonization Vision 2050. AEON also joined the international initiative “RE (Renewable Energy) 100” the goal of which aims to do business using 100% renewable energy. We participate in the vision as a company responsible for energy management within the Aeon Group. We have established energy management as a new pillar for our business, and we will contribute to the achievement of a decarbonized society together with our local communities.

As the labor shortage is becoming more serious in Japan and China, AEON delight provides solutions that resolve the labor shortage for both our company and our customers, through our creation of the AEON delight (AD) platform. Our services The AD platform invalues collecting, storing data acquired from inside and outside facilities through our services and analyzing that data with AI, and provide optimal solutions to customer issues. Solutions include streamlining and automation of operations, remote monitoring and automatic control of equipment, and implementation of automated cleaning robots.

First in Japan to get international standardISO 41001 for Facility Management

From indispensable facility maintenance personnel to people with knowledge and expertise in reducing environmental impacts, there are over 20,000 facility management industry top class quali�ed personnel at AEON delight. These staff are stationed at branches and sales of�ces in over 600 locations around Japan, connecting a network of approximately 10,000 af�liated companies, and providing uniform services to the entire country.

We develop a range of highly specializedpersonnel with human capabilitiesas well as technical capabilities.

At AEON delight, the AD Solution Center is always open with staff on site to monitor the situation. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, they are standing by to answer enquiries and remotely monitor abnormalities at facilities based on information received from machine security. In the event of an emergency, the center is used for information gathering and analysis to provide prompt disaster relief and realize quick recovery of customer facilities and resumption of business operations. For example, after the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, we established a support system for a total of 2,500 people, and carried out the work of restoring store facilities, transporting support materials, providing generators, �oodlights, and temporary toilets, dispatching security guards, and so on.

"On-site capabilities" shine in an emergency

We are working to promote diversity, respecting the individuality of each person, and making the active use of diverse human resources as a driving force for growth. We are working to improve the percentage of full-time female employees and to train women to become managers. We also hold LGBT seminars, we have joined the IkuBoss Corporate Alliance, and we work to improve productivity to eliminate long working hours. In July 2017, we received the "Eruboshi" certi�cation (stage 3) from the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare and in August, we acquired certi�cation of “Leading Companies with Actively Participating Women in Osaka City."
