ACTIX–RVS

WHAT IS ACTIX ?: A post-processing tool for GSM, GPRS, UMTS, CDMA-one, CDMA2000 and IS-95.

WHAT I CAN DO WITH ACTIX ?: Actix provides users the ability to manage, visualize, replay, analyze and optimize networks based on collected data.

WHERE I CAN USE ACTIX ?Actix A-RVS( Rollout Verification Solution) module will be used to

troubleshoot and optimise UMTS networks.WHY ACTIX?

ACTIX, as a network optimization platform, is a powerful tool that will allow you to discover, locate, manage, troubleshoot and find solutions of your network problem. You just have to know what you are looking for.

3.5- USE ACTIX-MENU-Workbook3.6- USE ACTIX-MENU-Cells

> Open Report/Workbook: You can add a predefined report( made by you not in the package delivered by Actix) for example the one that we are currently using for site verification report. The report It is usually an Excel file and requires special *.caf files in order to run. To see in this training.

> Cells:• Get all the data you

need about sites and cells:LAC, CID, EIRP,BSIC,SC etc

• Change CellRef file

3.7- USE ACTIX-MENU-Tools

Analysis Manager: To define your analysis and reports. Not in this presentation.

Create Superstream: Already seen what this means

Choose Scenario: It is for other modules of ACTIX not for RVS

Custom Attribute Manager: Launch custom attribute

Display Event Diagram Viewer:important for mobile state(idle, connected etc)

Display Thresholds:edit thresholds for all alarms

Find Attribute: you can easily locate parameter(s)

State forms Editor: generate your own forms

Superstream PCMlink/DT:not used

Preferences: MOST IMPORTANT ONE!

3.7- USE ACTIX-MENU-Tools-custom Attribute Manager & Event Diagram

> Custom Attribute Manager

• This window will pop-up when custom attribute will be created.

• *.caf file for each of this Attribute to be placed in C:\Program Files\Actix\Analyzer\Bin\Custom Attributes.

> Event Diagram • Shows mobile states (idle, connected,

etc…)

4.1-USE ACTIX-Display parameters

DISPLAY PARAMETERS:

You should ask questions-Scanner or Mobile?

-UL or DL?

-When and Why occurred?

-To whom it was addressed?

-Who sent the message?

-Why was sent?

-CCH or DCH?

-Parameter or Event?

-Key parameters of the message?

-On RRC?

4.4-PREDEFINED REPORTS AND FAVORITES

> Favorites: we already discussed about forms, analysis, states Another trick that you will probably use is: monitor a list of KPI given by the RNO manager. For this you select the parameters on the left size, right click on it and choose add to favorites. Do the same for all KPI. You are lucky because you do this just once. Every new trace you will load will have a quick view ONLY of this parameters in the favorites sheet( it is on the bottom side of your screen, left corner)
