Conservatism and Libertarianism Allied
Defeating the Left: Abandoning Cults of Personality and Myths
To a very real degree, the right has on its hands a near suicidal predilection to-wards various cults of personality and the myths which spring up around such cults.
Let us be perfectly candid: Ronald Reagan was no conservative, and no serious conser-
vative would ever call himself a Reagan conservative. Reagan had an obsessive streak
when it came to playing with nostalgia, and he understood the power of appealing to
the past in order to legitimize the present approach. There was only one issue that Rea-gan kept running into: an inability to deliver on key promises and core ideals.
Reagan raised taxes six out of the eight years he was in ofce, and in alexicographical sleight of hand that would have made Orwell proud referred to those
tax hikes as revenue enhancements. These tax hikes included hikes in the federal
excise tax, an increase in the Social Security withholding rate, and various other smallincreases here and there. Moreover, Reagan managed to quadruple the average annual
decit from Carters $52 billion to a stunning $220 billion plus average annual decit.
The size of the federal government increased under Reagan, and the mission and
scope of the government under Reagan increased as well. The War on Drugs, a quixoticfederal crusade which led to the federal government suspending Posse Comitatus inorder to allow military personnel to become engaged in border actions aimed at halting
the ow of drugs into the country, was a sterling example of how conservatism came to
betray its libertarian roots. Let us not forget that the conservatism of Nixon gave us the
EPA, and a short time later, the Libertarian Party was born out of disillusionment with a
conservatism which sought to use government action as a panacea in much the sameway the leftists did.
The key characteristic of conservatism is a deep skepticism as to the efcacy of
government action in solving societys problems. We on the right, whether of the liber-
tarian strain or the conservative genus, tend towards agnosticism when it comes to the
efcacy of government action or oversight. History and the empirical evidence bear our

agnosticism out. The fact is that every major government initiative of the past seventyyears which set forth to accomplish one grand notion almost always led to the opposite
result.
Leftists have dreams but lack mortar, bricks, and the general aptitude to trans-form raw materials and human effort into the realization of those dreams. Then again,
the leftists tend towards grand ideas, such as mansions and crowns for every man andthe Kingdom of God on Earth. Streets paved with gold and ice cream cones materializ-
ing out of air on whimsy, even.
What leftists fail to realize is that the average man does not want steak. He
wants meatloaf or a hamburger, and a chance at stability and a better life for his chil-
dren. These are manageable things for an average man to attain of his own volition andlabor, so long as the government doesnt get in the way by, say, accumulating public
debt to the point where interest rates skyrocket and render home mortgages a luxury
item. If the government can avoid devaluing the existing money by going on printing
sprees, then the average man can feed, clothe, shelter, and entertain his family for a rea-
sonable amount.
The leftist believes in unions but never bothers to ask himself why it is that a
middle class individual working in an automobile factory needs the equivalent of sixtyor more dollars an hour in wages and benets just to remain in the middle class. This is
because the leftist does not want to confront the reason; namely, that the government in
its innite sagacity has managed to devalue a dollar to a point where, over the 30 yearssince 1980, it is now worth just 36 cents of its former value. Thus, that $60 of today is
now a mere $21.60 in wages and benets in the dollars of yesteryear.
The reason for this currency devaluation? Why, the fact that in our economy, two
things oat to the top! One is excrement and the other is cream. Unfortunately, theformer is greater supply than the latter, which is why American industry is in such de-cline. The operating costs for American automakers have declined precipitously as they
have shifted operations to Mexico and Canada, but when their Japanese counterparts
are going about issuing complete redesigns of car models every three to four years asM o m u s S p e a k s O n t h e R i g h t

opposed to the domestic standard of once a decade (see the Taurus, Cavalier, and vari-ous others), there really is no competition. Consumers like a new car to be, well, new.
Unfortunately, American executives really are at a loss to understand this simple
principle. They operate their businesses according to biblical principles of a mangledinterpretation: Behold, I make all things new, is transmogried into Behold, the Jag-
uar which sits on the chassis of a Ford Taurus! Furthermore, I am all things to allmen becomes the Camaro and Firebird, the Crown Victoria and the Marauder or the
Grand Marquis, and the Taurus and the Sable.
Was there really a substantive difference betwixt the two that merited both being
made? If you can tell me the real difference between a GMC pickup and the Chevrolet,
other than the fact that one is professional grade and the other is like a rock, Ill eatmy hat with ketchup and wash it down with a beer. American automobile
manufacturing is run with this sort of idiocy. For a while, it worked. It worked as well
as the German strategy of resting on the laurels of an engineering reputation which was
still collecting dividends from the V-2 rocket, and produced Benzs and Beamers which
couldnt compete with the newly emerging Japanese models.
Suddenly, American automobile manufacturing had to face reality: American
consumers had other options. They could have another color besides black, or a car thatcould actually endure beyond 70,000 miles. There were those pitiful union types who
refused to shake hands with a Honda driver who showed the temerity to go against that
idiotic and ubiquitous slogan of the 80s Buy American, but the reality of it was thatAmerican manufacturing just didnt have a consumer base any longer.
It had nothing to do with the fact that the Japanese didnt have to use union labor
because they headquartered and manufactured in at-will states. Name me the domestic
manufacturer who could not have decided to relocate to Indiana and Kentucky if theyhad wanted to do so. Even if they had, the reality of the matter was that they didntproduce a product that consumers preferred. The Japanese did produce such a product,
and thus they were making inroads.

The basic truth was that American automotive manufacturers were now facedwith actual competition, and they couldnt, or more accurately, wouldnt cut it. Instead
of adapting, they continued down the same path of idiocy. They lost money and market
share to their competitors as a result.
Unions existed in the Midwest and could not back off of their demands because
the cost of living in the Midwest was higher due to a tax regime which had grown uparound those high union wages. After all, the only thing greedier than a union worker
is the state government of a union worker. Property taxes, sales taxes, income taxes,
and excise taxes abounded in Michigan and the surrounding states.
Not so in Indiana and Kentucky, where individuals could afford to live at a com-
parable level with their counterparts in Michigan for some $20 an hour less in wagesand benets, and they didnt even have to pay a union a portion of their wages to do so!
Imagine!
The idea of a union had become outdated. And then corporate America ensured
that the union would remain en vogue for decades to come by going robber baron on
us. We had Chainsaw Al Dunlap, and Ivan Boesky, Michael Milken, and so many oth-ers whose sole goal in life seemed to be ensuring that capitalism would be vilied in the
publics mind. The truth of the matter was that none of those men could have done itwithout the government! It took a conscious decision by legislators, regulators, and law
enforcement to look the other way for a prolonged period of time as these hucksters
worked their peculiar alchemy.
In every way, our government has been an absolute model of inefciency and
corruption. We have layer upon layer of enforcement, with agencies and acronyms pro-
liferating at a stunning pace, but still we have one corporate scandal after another. The
simple truth is that those in a position to regulate are largely incapable of foreseeing theunintended consequences of their proposals and reforms because they simply do notunderstand how business works.

encouraging developments in corporate ling, such as XBRL reporting, which enableordinary investors to detect and react to fraud in a matter of days, thereby rendering an
investigation, indictment, conviction, and judgement at the speed of the market, which
far outpaces the speed of the justice system. This is the way of the future, so long as the
government doesnt get in the way.
And what of the costs? What of the fact that some people will be hurt? What of the fact that investors and managers and workers will be hurt by the fraud some cadre
of executives committed? Let them seek civil redress, by removing that aid to the calcu-
lating executive who connives his way into ill-gotten bonuses and incentive pay by en-
gaging in fraud and malfeasance, that aid which is called limited liability. Limited
liability essentially is a creation of the government, and it ought to be destroyed. If youenter into business or commerce with another, you are obligated to be his keeper and he
is obligated to be yours, especially where your investors and customers are concerned.
The right hand must know what the left hand is transacting and vice versa. Limited li-
ability provides managers, executives, and workers with an incentive to look the other
way and allow malfeasance to continue.
And for those who do not receive a full measure of recompense through civil
channels, let them realize the reality: life is not fair. There is risk with every potentialreward, and sometimes, you get burned. If youve put all of your retirement invest-
ments into one stock, or youve taken the word of a friend or an associate in order to
pursue a surere business opportunity, youve assumed a risk for yourself. Investmentis, on some level, nothing more than a bet. There is a chance that something will go
wrong, or that you will have chosen the wrong individuals or groups to do business
with. Buyer beware is the best and only guidance you can have. Exercise your common
sense and realize that if you fail to do so, you will get burned, and it will be your own
fault.
It is not the role of government to take from one man who had nothing to do
with the error in question in order to make another man whole from his losses. The
TARP bailout was just this sort of thing. If the banks had succeeded, they would have

kept the prots for themselves and their investors. But in their failure, their loss wasspread to every man, woman, and child. There is something fundamentally wrong and
evil about such an arrangement.
They were allowed to gamble with money that they did not have by thegovernment, and then, when they lost that money, they were given more of other
peoples money to repeat the same process again over and above the objections of thoseother people. These men and women suffered no real consequence for their errors in
judgement or their willful oversight of bad risks. In giving these banks and their
investors TARP money and assorted other bailouts, while not providing any restriction
at all on what those banks did with the money, the government essentially provided
every incentive imaginable for repetitive moral hazard. In doing so, the governmentabdicated its responsibility as a steward of the public interest and as an enforcer of the
equal application of the law. The government sacriced its legitimacy on the altar of
expediency.
Expediency is the chief end of the leftist. Whatever means are expedient are the
ones to be implemented and erected without regard for the potential consequences thatmay arise later. It is as if someone has been shot in the leg in such a way that the
femoral artery has been nicked, and the surgeon chooses to expedite the matter bymerely slapping a bandage over the wound in order to stanch the ow of blood. His
patient will still bleed to death, but at least there wont be a mess. When cosmetic
concerns take on greater importance than mortality, your priorities are amiss and your judgement is questionable and perhaps even willfully negligent. This is leftism.
We will save the few and ensure the damnation of many, while conning the many
into believing that it is their problem by mounting a campaign of hysteria. There is no
evidence that capital was lacking during the banking crisis. Banks had capital to lend, they just wouldnt . What the banks were after was capital to offset their bad decisionsand bets, and who among us can argue that, given the banking industrys history of col-
lusion and malfeasance, a bank would be above withholding credit in order to
encourage or hasten a political solution along which would give it even more money

with which to gamble? Let me be even clearer: the credit crisis was nothing more than amanufactured one, the banking equivalent of extortion, whereby banks told businesses
that if they did not receive their infusion of cash from the public treasury, they would
deny businesses the credit necessary to their operations, and those businesses told the
government that they would be unable to continue if a solution was not reached which
satiated the appetites of the vampires within the banking industry. Even when theywere ush with infusions of capital, they did not commence to lend.
It was a coup detat, where the banks managed to override the public sentiment and
convince the Congress to allow them access to ever more unjust desserts. In a nation
where the entirety of real estate mortgages, both residential and commercial, totals up
to just $21 trillion, the sum total of the bailout to the banks has now reached $23 trillion. And even with the government agreeing to underwrite not just the insolvent
mortgages, but also those mortgages in perfectly ne shape, the banks are not lending
the money theyve received. Theyre investing and buying stocks and bonds, and what
theyre doing with those bond purchases ought to be an act of war for those sovereign
nations who now nd themselves perched on the brink of insolvency and ruin due tothe depredations of speculators.
The banks have used the very funds provided to them by the governments of the worldto gamble against the debt of those governments in such a way as to hasten the collapse
of entire countries in order that the banks may have even more control over the political
process and remake civilization yet again while stampeding both individual libertiesand majoritarian consent. Governments are not in the habit of declaring war on banks,
as war is generally waged between countries, but perhaps we ought to consider that the
defense of free civilizations with guarantees of individual rights depends on the de-
struction of the banking industry in its current form. Perhaps it is time to turn the
artillery towards Wall Street and begin a barrage with munitions that might accomplishwhat democratically elected governments who purport to stand for free markets did not
accomplish: a banking industry that resembles the real market result of its investing
strategies and gambles. In short, the only thing that ought to be alive on Wall Street are

the assorted insects and vermin capable of withstanding apocalypse withoutgovernment bailouts.
We will not have banks dictating to us what currency will be the worlds reserve for this
week or that week, or engineering the worlds economy by turning into a commandeconomy which resembles the will of the Goldman trading desk over and above free
market forces. Let me be blunt: when a government takes over an economy in order tooverride market forces, we call it for what it is: communism. It ought to be called the
same when a bank does it, for the end result is the same. Competition, supply, and
demand are all rendered incidental to the endgame of the banks, which is apparently
more of this cooperation and understanding weve heard is so necessary to the
future security of free nations, who arrive at the future less free and less secure thanthey were before turning over their policies to bankers.
What banks covet is the power to deny people their power, and to render elections
symbolic exercises whereby the end result is the continuance of the status quo over and
above the objections of free men seeking their own self-determination. What banks
want is what Proverbs 22:7 acknowledges: debtors who are slaves to their creditors, andwho have no chance of ever purchasing their liberty by satisfying their debts.
Our Christian leaders lack even a remedial understanding of biblical principles, andwould it were that they actually comprehended the cautions of the Bible when enacting
public policy: My son, if you become surety for our friend, If you have shaken hands in
pledge for a stranger, You are snared by the worlds of your mouth; You are taken by thewords of your mouth (Proverbs 6:1-2). If only our leaders had referred to biblical
principles when debating the TARP bill, and if only regulators had considered the moral
and spiritual implications of their actions and measured them against such wisdom, we
wouldnt be facing a bailout that has grown from some $760 billion to a massive arrayof programs, commitments, and obligations which now totals over $23 trillion.
It is time that we elect leaders who comprehend that while faith cannot be compelled
through statute; it can be acknowledged in policies which are rooted in the universal

wisdom contained with the Bible; wisdom which exists to provide each of us with aguide around folly and error in practical situations.
The use of morality is not in anything other than its relevance to practical situations.
We put too much emphasis on the esoteric quality of the Bible, and too little on the sim-ple straightforward truths that it contains which might impact human lives and human
societies in a meaningful way if they were stressed as much or more than the passagesdealing with eschatology or dispensations. Dont lie. Dont cheat. Dont steal. Dont kill.
Have some respect. Dont sleep with a married man or woman. You think?
Moreover, there is the relevance of morality to situations, where the absoluteness of a
moral principle is not compromised by acknowledging that there are times when a
higher interest applies. I think one of the greatest illustrations of this came from AynRand, who used the example of lying in order to mislead a murderous assailant as to
the whereabouts of his intended victim. The preservation of an innocent life was more
important than the adherence to some archaic notion of an absolute commandment not
to lie. This does not render morality relative; it merely demonstrates that morality
exists in service to the ultimate absolute: the sanctity and preservation of human life.
One of the greatest irritants in dealing with those who profess Christ is their inability to
comprehend this. Morality is a mere means to the end, which is preservation of lifetemporal and and the attainment of the life eternal. Grace makes it possible to see this,
and to understand the balance of morality in application to lifes situations.
On a daily basis, we deal with people who rhapsodize to no end on theology anddoctrine, engaging in an almost masturbatory demonstration of their knowledge of this
and that ner point. Yet when it really comes down to it, their application of morality to
everyday situations is lacking and even disastrous. Our corrupt society evinces this.
lack of sense in how to apply moral principles to everyday situations.
There are those who justify fraud in business as being a mere extension of some amoralquality of capitalism. Its okay to lie, because I needed to lie in order to get the upper
hand in a deal. Its okay to cheat, because it led to a prot. Its okay to blackmail or to

extort, because at the end of the day, only the end result is what matters. First off, suchan outlook has nothing to do with capitalism, which at its core is a system which de-
pends on men and women being able to make an informed decision as consumers as to
what lies in their rational self interest and what aligns with their sometimes irrational
and faddish desires. Ultimately, the introduction of widespread deceit and fraud into a
market virtually ensures that demand is manipulated into choosing a supply optionwhich does not meet actual needs. It means that supply is ultimately false.
We have $1.14 quadrillion in derivatives as of July of 2009 according to the Bank of
International Settlements. That number represents an amount which outpaces the en-
tire physical output of the entire world economy. It has no connection with reality, yet it
affects reality. In much the same way, we see securitized devices or futures comingalong at a time when real demand is low and somehow those devices are able to cause a
price spike unconnected to either supply or demand. A friend of mine put it best when
talking about her own experiences as a nancial ofcer dealing with natural gas:
Theres a lot of money, but very few physical molecules. Ultimately, the ability of
banks and speculators to engage in such activity has nothing to do with the market; ithas to do with enabling banks and speculators to engage in practices which deny the
market and overpower reality in order to produce prots ex nihilo.
Its charlatanism, pure and simple. That $1.14 quadrillion in derivatives represents anti-
reality. It represents the tyranny of banks which have arrogated for themselves the
power to deny the market, the physical reality which underlies market conditions, andall in order to heap up for themselves virtually unlimited prots that are unjustied by
reality and those prots represent something deeper: unmerited and unwarranted
power. And ultimately, derivatives are not the means to the end of prot. They are the
means by which our nations are being placed under assault by totalitarians who have
long sought to overturn freedom in order to erect a plutonomy where votes areirrelevant, and rights are meaningless. When the richest 1% of the worlds population
has managed to concentrate a greater share of the worlds wealth than the bottom 95%
of the population, you can clearly see where we are headed. These individuals do not

believe in individual freedom or self-determination. They believe in serfdom and totali-tarianism.
They hate markets, they hate reality, and they hate the idea that consumers should have
any power whatsoever to make a decision which is informed or independent. Theseindividuals seek command economies at the expense of free market economies, and
they seek to overturn freedom and replace light with a curtain of darkness. Theyrepresent the end of human progress and innovation. They are vampires, as all leftists
and socialists are. They descend like locusts on the treasuries of nations, seeking replen-
ishment after intentionally overextending their own institutions in order to create a
crisis whereby they might achieve concessions which ensure the end of freedom by
bankrupting nations and instilling fear in the general population in order to manipulatetheir consent for measures which virtually ensure the suicide of sovereign nations and
autonomous cultures.
They know nothing but disdain for God, for country, for culture, for moralities, and for
systems of ethics, because these might provide guidance for free individuals in the form
of a context whereby sentient men might challenge tyranny and injustice. For freedomto endure, the socialists who have arrogated the worlds wealth must be made to bleed
to death, and their children as primogenitors who believe that freedom is the hereditaryright of those who cheated others out of capital by rigging the system through bribery
and graft must be smashed in the streets and hung from poles. They believe in owner-
ship for their own kind and slavery for everyone else, and seek to destroy as theyalways have anyone who would demonstrate the temerity to question or challenge their
methods.
Theirs has previously been a soft coercion whereby they have brought the Judases in the
governments of various countries and offered them silver in place of their souls, all inorder to get those traitors to enact regimes and statutes which out the interests of themen and women who elected them. Gradually they have reversed government from its
task of ensuring that the law applies to every man equally, in order to ensure that the
law itself becomes a vehicle of tyranny. The fact that something is lawful does not make

it legitimate. We who would be free must get over this notion that a law erected withthe sole purpose of advancing the interests of one individual or group at the expense of
others is legitimate and should be tolerated. A law is only legitimate insofar as it does
not erect for one man or group especial privileges at the expense of others. If the law
does not apply equally, or carry equal efcacy for all men, it is of no merit to free men.
We will disregard it in practice, and seek to overturn it in process, and if we fail throughthe process, we will force its overturning through rebellion and revolution.
These dogs of capital who worship Mammon and respect only power must be reduced
to ash. If our freedom is to be preserved, we must storm the temples of democracy and
overturn the idols of secularism and socialism, driving the moneylenders and the
lobbyists out of the inner sanctum and into the streets where their blood shall run as aan atoning sacrice to the people for the encroachments against individual liberty of the
past eight decades. We must storm the banks and investment houses, driving those
who have preached capitalism with their mouths while practicing an inverted socialism
with their hands to the streets below. We must toss them from their towers to the
streets, where the dogs shall tear at their corpses and sup on their blood.
We must crucify the traitors who held high ofce on the outskirts of our cities, where
their shame shall be on display for all to see. They sold out the Constitution they weresworn to uphold, and gave up their souls in the process. A man is linked to the land
and the country of his fathers, for the soil and the blood are interlinked. This land is our
land, and we are the sons and daughters of the soil that our forefathers spilled their blood to liberate and defend. We have been bequeathed traditions and truths which no
evil design can prevail against. It is time to stand with the courage of our convictions
and act on those convictions. It is time for terror to come to the hearts of those who
have sought to overturn our government, our Constitution, our traditions, and our na-
tion itself. It is time to bring light to darkness, and to bring those who have hated theRepublic to judgement. A love of the Republic is most clearly evidenced by a hatred of
those who would seek to harm it by perverting its government against the very princi-
ples which give us identity, meaning, and purpose as a people.

God and Truth are on the side of the righteous and those who contend. We are notcalled to martyrdom. We are called to life, and the purpose of freedom is that we might
live striving daily for freedom. Let us kill those who oppose, and bring their houses
down on the heads of their children and heirs until nothing is left of them and their
odious idea, an idea that America could be overturned and its people reduced to the
level of slaves. Let them be martyrs for their cause, and let us be living examples forour own.
The leftist must perish, or at the very least be relegated to obscurity and impotence
politically. Those who pervert liberty in order to overturn by using their speech and
associations to undermine America from within deserve impotence and even death as
traitors. The Constitution guaranteed them liberty, and they spat upon it. Theirforefathers died to ensure their freedom and prosperity, and they hurl invective and
heap slanders upon them.
They deny duty, they shirk responsibility and accountability for their actions, and by
their own admission they seek to weaken America and undermine the pride of its
people. They blaspheme the traditions of our forefathers, impugn this nation whichgave them freedom and nurtured them in prosperity, and they hate their own kind.
When America suffers attacks from without and within which kill their fellowcountrymen, they celebrate and say that it is right and appropriate.
We have no common ground with such diseased individuals. They are not our kin or
our kind. They are to be treated not as dissenters, but as traitors to the Republic.Dissent is patriotism, for dissent ultimately seeks to defend and uphold the core values
of the Constitution and the traditions of the Founders and our forefathers against a gov-
ernment gone astray. The leftist does not dissent. He slanders, he denigrates, and he
has no respect for Republic or its traditions, principles, or ideals. He respects only hisown rights, and seeks to overturn and destroy the rights of others. It is not mere dis-agreement, or a respectful dialogue over differences he seeks. He seeks to deracinate
the Republics ideals and replace them with myths and lies. He advocates for torture,
and for warrantless wiretaps, for a government that claims the ability to imprison its

masters for daring to speak and organize against its unconstitutional actions, and hemanipulates the weights and the measures, devalues the money in order to enrich
himself and preserve his allies from the consequences of their own bad decisions, and
he heaps up ruin for the nation in order to drive it to surrender its sovereignty in order
that he may drive us all into servitude to international alliances and confederations. He
advocates a government that is all-powerful, which tells me what they must buy andhow they must pay, a government where commerce is mere facade, an extension of the
manipulators he serves, and where no man may own his property free and clear but
instead must pay taxes on that land for as long as he lives.
His ideas are cancers, and his attitude is malignancy. He will eat the nation from within
and poison those impressionable enough to consider his ideas as having merit. Hecorrupts everything and everyone he comes into contact with. We must quarantine the
leftists, and ensure that their inuence is limited. They must be reduced to paupers on
the same order of the intellectual and spiritual poverty of their ideologies and theories.
The life of our Republic depends on our defeating them here. The rest of the world
looks upon us for a model for behavior. Let them see the people of America rise up andoverthrow the leftists, driving them from the temples of our Republic and the towers of
our commerce, and they will do the same! Let them draw courage and willpower from
our example.
Let future generations of the left look back on our response to the tyrants and tremble to
think of the response of free men to them. Let the leftists slink to the shadows, and letthem feel fearful to speak in public those errors which dominate their minds. Let the
rebuke be overwhelming and nal, an eternal example of our resolve to stand against
tyranny and error.
History aches for acts of greatness, and we must act. The time for dialogue and debatehas long passed. Let us not wring our hands, but let us take irreversible action againstthe left and smash them. Let us obliterate their agenda, and tear them from the seats of
power. The leftist is a coward, and he will grovel before anyone who demonstrates will.
We are kings under the Constitutions as citizens. Why should our elected ofcials wear

the crowns reserved for us? Why should they condescend to us? Are we not free men?Are we slaves to be ordered by the very men and women who are no more than
servants to us? Let us mete and dole out the wrath of our anger and fury until the
servants understand that their masters will tolerate no more of their disrespect and
condescension.
Bring fear and trembling to Washington, and let the servants know that they will eitherserve our interests or be crushed under the weight of those interests. We must face
reality and renew our resolve. Ours is not an existence of myths but facts. The leftists
have failed on the basis of empirical evidence. Our Republic is indebted to lesser
nations abroad. Our reputation is in tatters. Our population has been corrupted, and
many of its members feel that they are due sustenance from the government. Whatkind of government inculcates reliance upon it for food, shelter, and clothing? No
government which seeks to promote self-reliance and freedom would do such a thing.
Only a government whose interests lay in transforming free men to indolent slaves
would do such a thing. Such a government is not t for this Republic, and if we allow it
to continue, American exceptionalism and difference will be lost forever. This cannothappen.
We will not be surpassed by China. Not us. Not while free men of character have any-thing to say on the matter. We will not be surpassed by a nation whose sole merit is the
willingness of its leaders to manipulate and devalue its own currency in order to make
its exported goods competitive. The Chinese could never hope to compete in a freemarket without such machinations. We would obliterate them. They are not our
equals.
No nation is equal to the United States, nor will any nation ever be equal to us. We are
superior. We have the will and the pride to remain exceptional for generations to come, but our leaders are weak and ineffectual men and women ill-suited to the task of carry-ing the mantle of American pride and exceptionalism forward. We cannot be superior
with mediocre leaders. We must throw them out and restore our government, renewing
its ranks with men and women who believe and who have the resolve and determina-

tion to render that belief into reality. We will do whatever it takes to restore Americangreatness, and the world will look upon our resolve with marvel and fear. They will see
that we were ruthless to our own when their incompetence and corruption threatened
American difference, and they will know that we will not hesitate to do far worse to
them if they threaten us.
Conservatism and Libertarianism must be united by a love of country and an utterabiding hatred of the leftist. We must be united in our determination to destroy the
leftist and render all leftists unable to muster public support. We must not allow
cosmetic differences enable the leftists to divide us against each other so that they can
utterly destroy the Republic and render us into a mere democracy. We are not Europe,
nor should we ever settle for such an existence. We built Europe. We built Japan. Israelexists primarily as a result of our support and benevolence, and we have given her the
most advanced military in the Middle East. The free countries of the world owe Amer-
ica respect, and we will take that respect in the future. We have secured the Middle East
with our forces in the region, and stabilized the price of oil by protecting against volatil-
ity, and the other nations of the world dare show the temerity to criticize us as imperial-ist?! Our military makes their access to cheap energy possible!
We can debate and settle our differences once the leftists have been vanquished. At thiscurrent moment in the history of our Republic, we must unite against our common
enemy the leftist and drive him out of the temples of our Republic and to the outskirts
of our towns. We must defend the Republic, and then we can debate her course for thefuture.
America has stood unassailable for decades now. The rest of the world owes it prosper-
ity to our investment in its infrastructure and our leadership in the global marketplace.
We will not be denied what we have earned: continued dominance and eminence. Wewill certainly not resign ourselves to be replaced by those who are inferior to us, and wewill not be dictated to by lesser nations. It is time for America to cull the weak from its
rank, those leftists who soft-brained thinking leads them to proclaim the imminent de-
cline of America into the twilight of her greatness. A man and a nation are only dead

when they accept such a fate and resign themselves to perish. I say that Americas bestdays are ahead, and we have much to lose if we do not contend for those days.
Let us unite, then, and let us drive the leftists to obscurity. It is their ideology which
will vanish into the twilight, or recede into the shadow cast by America the colossus asshe stands above other nations in accomplishment and merit. There is not a moment to
waste. Beginning in November, we must begin the process of reclaiming hope forAmerica and demanding future greatness from ourselves. It is the right of free men to
dene their own futures and master their fates through their own labor. Let us labor,
then, to be great.
