A good training program is not just about running
Improving your technique and your times is easier than many believe with good,
customized training program. However, this is not enough: To achieve your dreamtime,
your program also needs to keep you actually able to train well. The tips used in this article
will help you understand what you need, outside of training to achieve your running goals.
Motivation
Motivation is a very important factor in improving your personal best. So, whatever your
current level, the first step when starting a training program should be to prepare mentally
by setting clearly defined goals, and organizing these goals by writing them down. Knowing
where you are and where you want to be as runners, as well as your ability to remain
realistic, are important elements to keep your motivation high and your stress level low.
This will help you remain motivated, train better, and run better times.
Consistency
Achieving your goals as a runner is an exciting feeling. However, in order to improve
consistently, your training needs to be consistent too. To do this, you will need two things:
One is motivation; the other is taking good care of your body in order not to be sidelined by
an injury. We cannot overstate how taking on too much too quickly can backfire and
sabotage your efforts. A customized program with a well thought-out progression and

improvements.
Recovery
To become the best runner possible, knowing how to recover is vital. The recovery process
allows the body to heal, be ready for the next session and become stronger over time. Most
people understand that recovery means rest, but diet (what you eat and when you eat it) is
also a key factor in recovery that should be taken into account in a good, customized
training program.
