9 KEY FRAMESDOMINIC BENJAMINKEY FRAME 1

SCENARIO: The scene starts with the antagonist Michael running to the alleyway entrance. He is running with a package as if somebody has been chasing him for it.

CINEMATOGRAPHY: A long shot is used to show the rough and edgy scenery behind Michael to add to the suspenseful start of the scene.

A full shot of Michael is used not only attract the audiences attention to the package in his hands, but to focus on him running from the person chasing him.

SOUND: The score music would be a dramatic/suspenseful soundtrack, the non-diegetic music would create suspense and tension leaving the audience wondering what is to follow the first picture.

MISE~EN~SCENE:Michael is wearing a winter jacket with trousers and smart shoes, the winter jacket suggests that the chase is taking place in cold conditions and is not ideal for the antagonist.

KEY FRAME 2

SCENARIO: Michael is looking for his pursuer, with his hand placed on the bag to show his possessiveness over the item.

CINEMATOGRAPHY: A medium shot is used to only feature half of Michaels body and the bag. A close-up shot is also used to show the concern on Michaels face, the audience can connect with the antagonist and feel his emotions.

SOUND: The suspenseful score music playing in the first will have continued to the second, this will add to the tension as we have not yet seen the other character that Michael is looking for.

MISE~EN~SCENE: The lighting in this scene is fairly bright on Michaels face but in the last quarter of the key frame it is dark to suggest to the audience that danger looms.

KEY FRAME 3

SCENARIO: The protagonist Nick is pursuing Michael and he is calling Nick on his phone to giveaway his whereabouts for arrest.

CINEMATOGRAPHY: A close-up is used to show the determination on Nicks face, from this the audience can see that Nick is not scared and he is eager to catch Michael.

SOUND: The dramatic/suspenseful score music wouldve faded out by this scene and the audience would hear the diegetic dialogue by Nick saying:

MICHAEL ASHLEY YOUNG STOP IN THE NAME OF THE LAW!

MISE~EN~SCENE:The lighting has progressed from light to dark from the last scene to emphasise the length of this action packed chase scene.

-Though the shot of the key frame is a close-up the audience can still see Nicks costume, he is wearing a suit and tie, through this they can tell the protagonist [Nick] apart from the antagonist [Michael].

KEY FRAME 4SCENARIO: The antagonist Michael is on the run, but his phone starts to ring, he declines it fast as he is well aware that the police are trying to track his location.

CINEMATOGRAPHY: A point of view shot is used.

SOUND: A non-diegetic sound of Michaels ring tone will play whilst Michael is about to decline the call.

KEY FRAME 5

SCENARIO: Nick is now pursuing Michael as he is after the package that is currently in Michaels possession Michael runs away.

CINEMATOGRAPHY: An over the shoulder shot is used, through this we can see the anxiousness on Michaels face. In my artefact a shot-reverse-shot would be used to show the tension between both characters.

SOUND: The dramatic/suspenseful non-diegetic score music from the first 2 scenes would return to heighten the tension between Michael and Nick and to add to the suspenseful chase scene.

MISE~EN~SCENE: The outfits of the characters will be the same throughout the scenes, the lighting brightens the face of Michael but with the way I positioned the character Nick we are unable to see the lighting on his face and instead he is left in the dark.

KEY FRAME 6

SCENARIO: Nick is in hot pursuit of Michael who is around the corner and not included in this key frame.

CINEMATOGRAPHY:The medium-long shot shows the protagonist hopping railings from a high angle to emphasise Nicks giant and imposing figure.

SOUND:An action themed piece of score music will be playing in the background. The score music will then fade out and then diegetic footstep sound effects will begin to occur whilst Nick is running through the alleyway.

MISE~EN~SCENE:In this scene the audience see most of Nicks costume [a full suit] meeting the stereotype of a hard-working police detective.

The lighting in the key frame has further progressed from a fairly dark lit setting to a really dark location surrounding the protagonist with 1 light shining from the lamppost.

KEY FRAME 7

SCENARIO: A fight has started between Nick and Michael as Michael tries his hardest to resist arrest, he attempts to punch Nick but Nick athletically dodges the punch.

CINEMATOGRAPHY: The two shot reveals the anger these characters have towards each other. Both characters have an equal share of space in the frame and both have an equal input.

SOUND: The non-diegetic action music will begin to play at the start of this scene, it will be louder than normal to heighten the action taking place within the fight scene.

MISE~EN~SCENE:>both characters positioned in the centre of the frame>costumes are the same >dark lighting in the background bright lighting shining on the characters faces>a crazed expression on the face of Michael>dark colours in the key frame

KEY FRAME 8

SCENARIO: After dodging Michaels punch, Nick delivers a punch of his own to the face of Michael

CINEMATOGRAPHY: Another two shot is used to show Nick punching Michael and putting an end to this long and exhausting chase scene.

SOUND: A sound effect of a punch will be played when Nicks fist connects with Michaels face.

MISE~EN~SCENE: The costumes have remained the same throughout the all the key frames the audience has seen so far. The lighting is dark but light on the face of Michael.

KEY FRAME 9

SCENARIO: The chase is over. After having punched Michael in the 8th key frame Nick is now standing over Michael with a gun reciting to him his legal rights.

CINEMATOGRAPHY: A point of view shot from Michaels viewpoint is used along with a high angle to emphasise his inferiority to the protagonist Nick.

SOUND: The non-diegetic score music of triumph is now playing to conform to the action movie
