INTRODUCTION The CRAC-VAC is designed for simple operation and has been proven to be extremely useful and versatile. Either a 7” or 8” diameter diamond blade may be mounted on the saw if they are rated and approved for operation at 8,500 RPM. READ, AND CAREFULLY FOLLOW, THE OPERATING AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS OF THIS OPERATING AND SAFETY INSTRUCTION MANUAL BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT. Since safety regulations can vary between different countries and states, you must contact proper authorities and follow all appropriate regulations.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS No person should attempt to operate this machine without first being trained in the operation of industrial cutting tools. These instructions are not intended as a substitute for training and experience. The operator must observe safeguards that include, but are not limited, to the following: DO NOT MODIFY ANY MACHINE FROM ITS ORIGINAL DESIGN WITHOUT THE WRITTEN PERMISSION OF THE MANUFACTURER.

UNAUTHORIZED MODIFICATIONS CAN LEAD TO SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH TO YOURSELF OR OTHERS. DO NOT use any blade marked for less than 8,500 RPM. DO NOT service the machine or change blades without first disconnecting the power. DO NOT install a blade before inspecting the blade for damage. DO NOT operate with a damaged blade. A damaged blade may fly apart and cause serious injury or death. DO NOT use a blade that wobbles when mounted. Verify blade is correct for application before use. Verify blade rotation matches the direction arrow on blade guard. DO NOT apply power to the blade before spinning the blade by hand to check alignment. DO NOT operate with any loose nuts or bolts. Check all nuts and bolts for tightness. DO NOT operate without appropriate ear, eye, foot, hand and breathing protection.. DO NOT operate around any loose or foreign objects that may damage system. DO NOT operate if arbor shaft has excessive end play. DO NOT cut material that the blade is not designed for. DO NOT operate machine near combustible material or fumes. DO NOT operate without appropriate hose and dust collection bag. DO NOT force blade through material to be cut. Always ease blade through material.

CRAC-VAC OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS A. MATERIALS SUITABLE FOR CUTTING 1 The CRAC-VAC System is designed to cut concrete, granite, marble or other tile-like products. Do not use to cut plastic, fiberglass, or any other similar

soft products. 2 Do not overheat the diamond blade. Overheating the blade may cause it to fail and result in serious injury. THIS IS SOLELY THE OPERATORS

RESPONSIBILITY. (If the blade overheats, call 1-800-624-7832) 3 Cutting rate will be approximate in all cases: w/8 x .090 DRY DIAMOND BLADE - 1” deep - 8’ per minute. w/7 x .250 DRY DIAMOND BLADE - ½” deep - 6’ per minute. * Test conducted with approximately 6000 PSI concrete-granite aggregate.

    B. USING THE CRAC-VAC 1 Move the unit in the forward direction to get the best results. Always have the nose of the unit pointed downward. Maximum suction is at the front of

the VAC-housing. 2 Guide the unit by observing progress through the semicircular cutout on the side of the guard. Wear all safety equipment when using the CRAC-VAC. 3 DO NOT use the CRAC-VAC system for picking up loose matter, the unit was designed to pick up concrete dust ONLY. 4 If excessive dust is escaping, shake dust to the bottom of the bag before continuing. If the problem reoccurs shortly after, empty the bag. If the problem

persists, remove the fan housing and check that the deflectors are in place and not clogged with dust. Also check fan for damage. (see directions for disassembly.)

    C. CHANGING THE BLADE Disassembly: 1 Remove the two bolts (05-72350) which retain the depth adjustment shoe (05-71600). 2 Remove the nut (05-72400) which holds the housing cover. 3 Carefully remove the housing (05-71400). 4 Unscrew the impeller counterclockwise (05-71300). 5 Remove the division plate (05-71200). NOTE: the intake opening goes over the deflector fins (05-71507 and 05-71508). 6 The arbor nut will unscrew counterclockwise, push the locking button on the grinder to hold the shaft in a locked position. 7 The arbor of the blade you are using is 7/8”. This is the only size which will work. (7/8” adaptors, if securely positioned, will allow 1” arbor to adapt to

    the 7/8” shaft.)

Assembly: 1 Ensure the replacement blade is capable of turning at a rate of 8,500 RPM, or the rated grinder speed, whichever is greater 2 There is a directional arrow on all diamond blades. Make sure the blade is put on to turn in the proper direction. (This is an up-cut saw, the direction of

rotation is marked on the grinder.) 3 Tighten the arbor nut. 4 Position the division plate (05-71200) opening over the deflector fins. 5 Fasten the impeller screws onto the shaft by screwing clockwise. NOTE: the impeller should not rub against the division plate. 6 Secure the gasket material (not shown, located inside housing (05-71400). The gasket material must be completely around the housing and outline the

intake opening. 7 Replace housing (05-71400) and secure depth adjustment, then secure tightly with nuts and bolts. * Do not use blades with holes and bushing which exceed 1”.
