The Five Pillars of Islām (arkān al-Islām !"#$% &'()*) are five basic acts, consideredmandatory by believers and are the foundation of a Muslim life.

They are:

•   Shahadah: Declaring there is no god except Allah (God), and Muhammad + 

is God's Messenger.

•   Salah: Obligatory prayer, five times a day

•   Zakah: Obligatory charity

•   Sawm: Fasting and self-control during the holy month of Ramadhān

•   Hajj: Pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in a lifetime if one is able.

SHAHADAH

Allah witnesses that there is no deity 

except Him. (3:18)

11
