• We are a global leader in the Ethernet technology applications.
• We are one rare manufacturer that is able to combine automated volume production capability with a high degree of product customization.
• While we are proud of our records of healthy growth in profits and 20%+ ROE, we seek investors who believe in our vision for future growth.
• We are not wedded to any single product, but instead seek to leverage UDE manufacturing management expertise to seek out new business opportunities.
3
UDE – young and restless
• How to get there?
– Share gain. Leveraging our core competency – optimizing process automation and product customization, UDE aims to structurally grow share in the global Ethernet market.
– Margin expansion. We aim to lift our margins structurally through: 1) continued cost cutting from automation, 2) product remix towards higher-margin networking applications.
– Sustainable ROE. Upon completion of our capital raise in 2011-13, we are ready for expansion to capture the growth, structurally maintaining our ROE at 20%+ per annum.
4
A new phase of growth
We aim to achieve over 15% CAGR for our top-line in the next 3-5 years with even faster bottom-line growth. We strike for a structural ROE of 20%+.
2Q14 results review
• 2Q14 revenue hovered around all-time high. UDE’s 2Q14 revenue finished flattish QoQ, hovering around its all-time high in history but a bit sub-seasonal due to a key component shortage.
• Margins contracted on the shortage issue. 2Q14 GM and OPM contracted QoQ to below our corporate averages (2009-13) as a result of the shortage issue.
• Bottom-line rationalized. Net profit at the bottom-line, however, rose 36% in 2Q14 due to an ease of mark-to-market losses and lower income taxes.
• We expect such key component shortage issue to largely ease in 2H14.
7
Core weakened on shortage issue
8
• 2Q14 revenue finished flattish QoQ at NT$1.28B, hovering around all-time high but sub-seasonal due to supply shortage of a key component.
• As a result, 2Q14 GM/OPM dropped sequentially by 1.24pp/2.86pp to 26.5%/12.3%. However, we expect such shortage issue to largely ease in 2H14.
Source: company.
Bottom-line rationalized
9
• 2Q14 operating profit decreased 19% QoQ to NT$157M as a result of margin contraction, but bottom-line net profit rose 36% QoQ to NT$128M due to an ease of mark-to-market losses and lower income taxes.
• 2Q14 fully diluted EPS finished at NT$1.80 (see financial section for more details).

2H14 outlook
10
Understated demand Customer demand this year progressing ahead of our previous expectation. We are actively building capacity to ease supply shortage.
Pricing pressure Our clients in the PC and consumer space are under pricing pressure, yet our focus on the higher-priced networking should help ease the pressure on blended basis.
Rising Capex We believe that the timing is ripe to increase Capex, given the strong demand outlook driven by networking and consumer segments this year.
Increasing R&D and S&G We will continue to place increased emphasis on the development of advanced products and penetration into these markets.
2014 revenue growth driver
• Consumer will likely outgrow networking this year due to new customer addition, but networking remains our long-term growth driver.

Increasing investment in R&D and S&G
17
Robust R&D investment
R&D spending to be increased by 50% over the next two years.
Focus to be on high-end networking products.
Will establish an advanced R&D lab in Taiwan.
Penetrating new markets
Sales & marketing (S&G) outlay to be increased by 30% over the next two years.
New hires to be focused on North American networking market.
Secondary focus is mass market consumer segment in China.
Seek to win share when networking companies introduce new generation products. This generally happens on a 2-year cycle.
Our initial efforts in this area look set to pay off in 4Q14.
Continuing process automation to drive costs down further and lift margins.
Investing in HR to manage future growth
18
• With an eye to the next stage of UDE’s growth, we are cultivating teams of veteran employees that will be capable of managing new product initiatives.
Systematic Training SOP: We have established a program of rigorous and systematic training for all UDE operators and technicians.
Apprenticeship Program in Sichuan: We offer 2-year apprenticeships with on-site plant training to students attending our technical college.
• We are pursuing organic product development and M&A, seeking to take small but promising business lines and expand their scale.
Representative principles of soft power
19
Employee development
•Training for employees in UDPS methods in Japan and Taiwan. •Work groups are promoted as a team. •Production requirements double with each promotion. •Production lines to eventually have only technicians, no operators.
Work smart
•Discourage frequent overtime. •Show concern for staff contentment on the job. •Emphasize teamwork, communication and efficiency.
Creative destruction
•Overthrow the traditional principles of production. •Do not be satisfied with the status quo.
