OurDISTASOverallChair,PPChrisPeralta,hasgivenourmembershiptheopportunitytochoosethecommitteestoworkon.Letusonceagaincheckourassignedtasks.Wehavemadeourchoices,letusdrawtheenergyfromtheforcewithinus.Onceagainletallourhiddentalentsandgiftssurfaceforthe“DISTAS–TheRotaryofBaguioway!”

The District is continuously inviting Rotarians to have a taste of thehistorical,mystique,beautifulandawesomePortugal!.OfcoursethisistheRotary International Convention at Lisbon, Portugal on June 23-26, 2013.Right now the Schengen visa processing is open at the Spanish Embassy. Convention package rate is USD2,535.00 per person. (With small print:subjecttochangewithoutpriornotice!)

RIannouncedthatasof31March,MatchingGrantandDistrictSimplifiedGrantapplicationsarenolongerbeingaccepted.For30-31March500GrantApplicationswere receivedbyRI.Rotariansarenowencouraged tobeginsubmittingglobalgrantapplicationsviatheonlinesystem.

Luckily, we do have our very own Matching Grant Guru, PP GerardAudineau,alongwithourequallypassionatemembers,Dir.DavidRees,PEUweKoellerandRtn.NaasDemyttenaere,whosubmittedtwo(2)matchinggrantsbeforethedeadline!Allwehavetodoistowaitfortheapprovalandagainnewservice tomakeadifference inotherpeople’s lives is going tohappen!Again,thankyougentlemen.

InRotaryClubofBaguio’stradition,themeetingpromptly started at 12:30. President Libby banged thegaveltoofficiallystartthemeeting.06AprilistheThirdClubAssemblyfortheRotaryYear2012-2013. Rtn. Lani Fabi facilitated the meeting asProgram Coordinator.

Rtn. Vangie Cacho led an inspiring invocationwhichwasfollowedbythesingingoftheNationalAnthem and then by the Rotary Hymn.

During Entertainment, SAA Jun Bondoc did afunny and entertaining story telling/mini-gamethatdrewtheassembly’sattention.

GuestpresentwereRALouiseSchlaaffandRtn.Larry Apostol. Rtn Larry was very diligent enough to take photos of themeetings proceeding. Rtn.Larryhasbeenhelpfulrecentlyinfillinguppicturesforthisbulletin.

During Members’ Time, PP Chris Peralta, asChairpersonforupcomingDISTAS2013,announcedupdates of the said event. DISTAS 2013 will be held attheBaguioCountryClub18thofMay2013.Dir.DavidReesannouncedthatheisgoingonavacationandremindedtheclubthatwehavetoparticipatein the EREY. Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) is a clubeffortwhereeverymemberdonateswhether$1000, $100 or even $10. The donations shouldbe given before the end of April if the completed commitment is to be considered for the Year End Review.

DuringPresident’sTime,Pres.LibbygavetoPPTeopRondezanawardforhis47yearsasbeingamember and already a foundation of the RotaryClub of Baguio. Though this award was given during theDiamond Jubille CelebrationNight, PPTeopleftearlythatnightthathemissedthegivingofawards.CongratulationPPTeopandthankyouforstayingwiththeclub!

The third quarter reportwas started of by PEMarilyn,moneymatterandfinancialstatus.Copiesof the budget reports was distributed to members. PE Marilyn started by tackling the incomes and expensesoftheDiamondJubileeNightCelebration.She continued with the budget report of theCommunityFund,wheretheclubrecievedagoodhelp from our foreigners friends. And then with theGeneralFundwhereshementionthattheclubbulletinisgenerallylosingmoney.

Club Administration Report was done by itschairperson PE Uwe Koeller. He mentioned that89% is thequartelyaverageof club’sattendance,59%ofwhichisaveragehomeclubattendance.

The Mid-Year Review last 12 January wasattendedbytheclubandRCBreceived3Awards;2ndMostNumberofServiceProjects,4thHighestContribution to the Rotary Foundation Annualand an award with appreciation to the membercooperation & support in paying their first halfannualduesontime.

Headdedthatmemberswereattendingdifferentanniversaries of other clubs as well. Various guest speakerswereinvitedandsharedtheirtimetoclubas well.

I’m surprised and also thankful that PE Uwe mentionabouttheVideoSing-alongImadeoftheRotaryHymn.ThanksUwe!

PEUwethenfinalizedbyenumeratingalloftheclubactivitiesandfellowshipduringthisquarter.

MembershipCommitteeReportwas facilitatedby VP Chris Faelnar in behalf of the committee’schairperson Dir. Atom Mendalla. VP Chris report that Birthday celebrants were greeted and honored. Everyweek,weincorporatetheRotaryInformationin our meetings. Different lessons were beingtackled. A traditional fireside chat was held forprospectmembers Vangie Cacho&Wilma Tadijewhom later became the club’s newest members. Resident Club Trainor PP Mike Pearson conducted thepresentationinhisusualefficientmanner.

Public Image Report was facilitated by its chairperson Dir. Gigi Maranan. She reported that The Club’s Facebook Fan Page have already 640 likes. RCB Concert for a Cause is published on the GML; the RCC Seminar Hosted by RCB and

Vocational Awards was published on the PRM;RCB Photo Exhibit in AmiananBalitaNgayon and75thAnniversary inAmiananBalitaNgayon;aTVInterview about Concert for a Cause and the DJ CelebrationonMabuhayBaguio,Skycable;aPublicSignageof75thAnniversaryCelebrationonLEDadinAbanaoSquareandaRCBPhotoExhibitinBCC

The Rotary Foundation was reported by itschairperson Dir. David Rees. He reported that the RCBCarolers raisedP61,500which togetherwithpoints frommembersmade3PHFavailable!PHFrafflewaswonbyPPGerard,PPAlfred&Dir.Davidfor 1PHF each.

TotalamountofdonationtoPolioPlusfundatendMarchis$1,600.

TotalamountofdonationfromPolioCansnowstandsatP11,181.17whichwassuggestedthatthiscould be converted into 1 PHF by utilizing otherfunds and points.

The club recieveda$1000donationonbehalfof RC Matsubase given by PDG Seichi Morita at the 75th Charter Anniversary celebration to providePHF’s for RCB members of her choice. Pres. Libby decidedtorafflethe2PHF’swhichweredrawnataregularclubmeetingandwonbyPPVeehBalajo&Rtn Bennie Laranang.

TheMathboxMG#76477hasbeencompleted.TheFinalReportwassubmittedtoRIbyMGChair&District3790DGSCChairGerardAudineau.

Rotary Club of Baguio received the agreement of the Belgium Rotary Club of Menem to be our foreignpartnerforthisMG#7926for50net-bookswithsoundsystemandexternalkeyboardforvisualand hearing impaired children in Northern Luzon. ItisawaitingapprovalfromTheRotaryFoundation.

A proposed matching grant for school bus MG #78937 is being plan out having our sister clubMugueug of South Korea as our foreign partner.
