    Lenten LiturgyThe large wooden cross in the sanctuary reminds us that we are on aspiritual journey to Easter. The purple cloth is draped on it to remind usof the royalty of Christ. On Easter Sunday, the white cloth reminds usthat Jesus has risen.

    You will also notice the cloths draped on the communion table, lecternand pulpit. We began in the wilderness (represented by the black cloth)

    and have journeyed through deep purple, navy blue, and lighter shadesof blue. Today, on Easter Sunday, we arrive at the fulfilled promise(represented by a white cloth.)

    Recorded Music Alive (Mary Magdalene) by Natalie Grant

    Early in the morning of the first day of the week, while it was still dark,

    Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and saw that the stone had been taken

    away from the tomb.

    They have taken away my Lord, and I dont know where theyve put him.

    Mary Magdalene left and announced to the disciples,

    Ive seen the Lord. John 20:1, 18a CEB

    *Prayer of Confession & Words of AssuranceGracious God, we have heard the good news:

    how on the third day, Christ rose again.Still we look for the living among the dead.You rolled away the stone from the tomb.Still we look for the living among the dead.You sent messengers to proclaim the gospel.

    Still we look for the living among the dead.You were faithful to your promise;

    you have done wonderful things!Still we look for the living among the dead.

    [silent confession]

    Forgive us, Lord, we pray.Teach us to trust your promiseand to believe the good news of salvation:Christ is alive; Jesus is risen from the dead. Amen.
