Dear Friends,

Welcome to the 2018-2019 series of wonderful music making at Peachtree Road UMC. We have been blessed with a truly magnificent space and it is only right that equally exquisite music goes in it.

Peachtree Road believes that “every perfect gift is from above.” With this in mind, we are dedicated to bringing enriching music and performances to our church family. Music has the ability to profoundly touch our hearts and souls. This series is an excellent way to enrich your life through the energy and beauty expressed through a live performance. I encourage you to take a few moments to look through this brochure to learn about each concert, the program and artists.

I also invite you to join us in supporting the arts through our Friends of Music Program. Through your generosity we are able to bring nationally and internationally renowned artists to our church and city. An invitation to join our Friends of Music can be found in the back of this brochure. It is an important way to keep the arts thriving in our church and community, and to help bring new music lovers and guests to this divine space.

Come celebrate with us and bring your friends to share in the gift of music. As ever, we are thrilled to bring the arts to Peachtree Road!

Scott H. AtchisonDirector of Music and Organist

The Arts have always played an important role in the life of the Church, and have a biblical, historical and theological precedence for doing so. The nurturing of the Arts within a faith setting provides a strong stimulus for people to attend a wide variety of events such as concerts, recitals, special services, and entertainment offerings.

The Friends of Music Patron Program enters is fifth year of supporting The Arts Program and Peachtree Road. Through the Friends of Music (“FOM”) initiatives, we are able to continue fulfilling our mission of:

• Offering the finest possible musical occasions in our annual concert series, including sponsoring concerts by nationally and internationally renowned ensembles

• Expanding the understanding and value of music

• Supporting the music ministry in all they do to help lead worship services in our great church

• Financially supporting and facilitating these initiatives

Through the generosity and faithful support of the Friends of Music, we can expand this tradition of excellence and the arts will thrive at Peachtree Road for many seasons to come. Individual membership to FOM is open to all by donation. Every gift at every level is appreciated.
