2016 RWB Ballet Ball

Canada Royal Winnipeg Ballet is one of the oldest ballet companies in North America, and the first in the British Commonwealth to be granted a Royal charter. Over the years, the RWB, its dancers, and its choreographers have received many international awards and bringing honour to Winnipeg, to Manitoba and to Canada. We play a leading role in the Winnipeg arts community, fostering gifted, local dancers and also attracting high levels of talent from all over the world.

Our annual fundraising gala RWB Ballet Ball – An Enchanted Affair will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the RBC Convention Centre. It will be a night filled with magic and enchantment, a place where fairy tale dreams will come true. The evening will be filled with breathtaking dance performances by the RWB Company dancers, specialty cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a fabulous four-course dinner, the chance to bid on a select number of auction items, and a not-to-be-missed grand prize draw. Plus, the guests will join the Company dancers for an after-party that will create a truly memorable evening! We are excited to announce that world-renowned ballerina and former RWB Principal Dancer Evelyn Hart will emcee our event along with RWB Artistic Director André Lewis. Evelyn was the first Canadian to win gold at the Varna International Ballet Competition in Bulgaria in 1980 and received the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement and ACTRA awards – making her one of Canada’s most beloved dancers. Evelyn’s presence represents a significant enhancement to our event.

The RWB Ballet Ball has been designed to generate funds to enable the RWB to present the high quality performances that our patrons expect and enjoy. Moreover, your support will provide our dancers with the opportunities to achieve their highest potential while pursuing their dreams.

Last year`s RWB Gala attracted 400 high profile guests from Winnipeg’s corporate and cultural communities. We raised more than $160,000 and we are hoping to exceed that amount this year. This Sponsorship Package, provides unique opportunities to support the RWB Ballet Ball. We look forward to discussing these opportunities with you further.
