CONTRACT AND COPY POLICYOur complete agreement and copy policy is outlined in The Place Advertising Agreement. The Publisher must approve all ad copy.

PRODUCTION CHARGESAds requiring any changes will be billed at an hourly rate. All ads are accepted in digital format only.

Files are due on the 15th day of the month. Late Ads will be subject to fees. Calendar is as follows for 2016.

SHORT RATE AND REBATE INFORMATIONRates are based on total number of insertions used within each contract year. When total number of insertions upon which rate is based is not used within six months from date of contract, advertiser or agent agrees to pay short rate bill. If more space than that contracted is used, it is agreed the advertiser or agent shall be given all benefits in prices and discounts earned thereby.

CONTRACT RATESInsertion orders or contracts should specify a definite scheduleof insertions, issues, and sizes of space to qualify for a specific rate. A contract year begins with the first ad and extends for 12 months. When ad frequencies set forth in the contract schedule are not completed, the advertiser/agency will be re-billed at the actual rate earned for all advertising during the contract year. In lieu of a signed contract, ads will be billed at open rate.

PROOFSIf proofs are received 10 days prior to closing of the deadline, proofs will be returned for review prior to publication; otherwise, proofs sent will have no opportunity for corrections.

PAYMENT INFORMATIONPrepayment is required for all new customers for the first order. Payment by Check, VISA or MasterCard accepted. Net 30 days after credit has been established. A charge of 5% per month will apply on all accounts 30 days past due.

NON-PERFORMANCE OF DISTRIBUTION Upon any month of the year The Place Media (D.B.A. The Places Magazine) does not distribute it’s monthly circulation of magazines; advertisers reserve the right to void invoices from the month in question. Additionally, in the event of non-performance of magazine distribution, advertisers reserve the right and discretion to cancel the remainder of their contract with The Place Media, regardless of the remaining months. Proofs of publication can be requested from the staff of The Place Media via electronic and/or physical tear-sheets.

CANCELLATION POLICYAgreements/orders based on discounted promotional rates, and preferred positions (including covers) are noncancelable. Agreements/orders involving participation in front cover (Cover I) program are noncancelable. Changes in supplied copy or text will be charged for based on a minimum rate of $25.00. Once a contract is fully executed by both parties, the contract cannot be cancelled for any reason. The contract will survive it’s entire term per the exact contractual agreement stated in the signed documents. Once mutually signed, all contracts are considered legally-binding and enforceable.

TERMSCash with order only, except with prior credit approval. Credit accounts are due and payable upon proof of publication and billing. Accounts are past due 27 days after cover date. No commissions or discounts allowed on past-due accounts. Local rates available to single-location, small advertisers with a limited market area.

POLICYPublisher reserves the right to reject any advertisement ads for any reason that he/she deems inappropriate matter for Places Magazine. The publisher also reserves the right to label as “paid advertisement,” especially any advertisement which may be mistaken for editorial matter. Publisher reserves the right to hold advertiser and its advertising agency jointly liable for such monies that are due and payable to the Publisher. Rates, conditions, and space units are subject to change without notice.

EVERGREEN CONTRACTAny contracts that are deemed “evergreen” will not yield an annual signed contract. The term of an evergreen agreement will automatically renew for (1) year of time unless one party provides the other party with at least a (30) day notice before the end of the current term that it does not wish to renew the term of the Agreement. The initial term of this Agreement shall be one (1) year commencing as of December 31st of that year. Notices must be given at least (30) days prior to December 31st of the previous year; for example: those who wish not to advertise for the 2017 year must give notice by or before December 1, 2016. Thereafter, the term of this Agreement shall automatically renew for successive one (1) year terms unless one party provides written notice to the other party at least thirty (30) days in advance of the end of the then existing term that it does not wish to renew the term of this Agreement.
