  • Welcome! We are glad youre here! We invite you to seek out the folks wearing the Ask Me badge. Through them you will find information about the ministries of Salem Heights Church and how to become involved. Please fill out a Visitor Card and drop it in one of the offering boxes as you leave or scan this code to go directly to our website and fill out a visitor card. We have an excellent nursery and programs for children newborn through high school. Any of the ushers will be happy to direct you to the proper classroom. If you feel more comfortable having your infant with you during the service, the last row in the Auditorium will be reserved for parents with small children. There is a private room for nursing mothers across the hall from the Auditorium with a rocking chair, changing table and portable crib. For your convenience, it also includes a monitor to enable you to still hear and view the service.

    Our Purpose...

To reach people with the love of Jesus Christ, provide a safe and

supportive environment, proclaim the standards of Gods truth,

and works of Our Great God.

Mexico Building Trip The Mexico Building team leaves on February 28. They will be heading to Texcoco, Mexico to help complete the roof on the church we partner with for summer missions. As they prepare to leave, they would welcome prayer partners. Prayer cards listing specific prayer needs for the trip are available in the Welcome Center. Pick one up today!

Baby Basket Donations As our church welcomes new little ones, we love being able to bless the families with Congratulations baby baskets. This ministry is generously supplied with donations from the church body. At this time, we are in need of baby accessories such as bottles, pacifiers, bibs, small toys, blankets, lotions, snack containers and even small stuffed animals. If you would like to donate any of these items, they need to be new (no used items). Donations can be dropped off at the church office throughout the week.

Mission Trip Prayer Opportunities There are several different families/groups heading out to the mission field in the next few weeks. Prayer cards (and more information) are available in the welcome center for each group. Stop by the table and pick yours up today! The groups covet your prayers as they go and share the Gospel.

2015 Missions Trips Monthly preparation meetings begin soon for each of our 2015 mission trips. If you have submitted an application form and are planning on traveling with any one of our trips this summer, plan to join us for these monthly meetings. Mark your calendar for March 1 from 4:00pm-5:45pm. Individual team leaders will send out details for their specific missions. Be watching your email inboxes for further information.

  • Giving Update

THE MINISTRY OF SALEM HEIGHTS CHURCH The ministry of Salem Heights Church is funded entirely by the generous giving of Gods people. You will notice that we do not pass the offering plate; however, there are offering boxes in the back of the auditorium. We have done this so no one gives out of compulsion. We believe from the Word of God that the Spirit of God will lead people towards giving back to God of their first fruits. ...God loves a cheerful giver (2 Cor. 9:7) and we know He blesses those who take His Word seriously in every regard. Thank you for prayerfully supporting Salem Heights financially as we desire to reach the lost and disciple the Saints.

  • LUKE Part 16

    Luke 3:17-22

    Johns Crowd

    Presented by

    Pastor Justin Greene

    February 22, 2015

George Truett said, Nearly two thousand years ago He

came to this world, and His spirit has made an impact

deeper than that of any other personality that has ever

touched this world. His spirit pervades all the realms of

life. His spirit pervades literature and government and law

and religion and art and music. All the spheres and

realms of life have been influenced by Christ and

Christianity. What if He had not come? Where would the

world be, at this moment, if Christ had not come?1

Thankfully, we do not have to answer that question.

Instead, in Luke chapter 3 Christ is presented to the world

and has been shaping it ever since.

  • REMEMBER THIS

    THE CROWD

    The crowd around John:

    They Expected Judgment.

    Notice the terms:

    Winnowing Fork

    Wheat

    Chaff

    Fire

Scripture speaks of 7 judgments yet to come (back of notes).

    The crowds today:

    Question of Judgment Religious Truth

  • 2

  • They Wanted Justice.

John, who was a champion for change, would end up in chains.

When bad things happen to good people, our thoughts turn from a possible future to a present

    frustration.

    The crowds today:

    Question of Justice Emotional Truth

  • They Needed Jesus.

Jesus baptism was not because of His sin, but to be identified with us.

He is our representative, our substitute.

    The crowd today:

    Question of Jesus Spiritual Truth

    WRAP

    Jesus Changes the Paradigm.

We no longer need to fear judgment; we no longer need to live without hope of justice. Fear and

    helplessness are replaced with faith.
