Guild members scavenged, shopped, chatted and, oh yes, knitted in public

By Katie Gerwien At least 19 TKGV members participated in the KIP and LYS Scavenger Hunt on June 1. At least 12 participants visited all four participating LYS's, which were most gracious to the Guild members who visited their shops. Participants earned points throughout the day by visiting the LYS's, knitting in public at the LYS's for at least a 30-minute increment and for answering eight scavenger hunt questions per LYS. The three members with the highest scores won prizes, with Denise Call finishing

in first place, Cheryl Cauthen-Bond finishing in second place and Linda Johnson finishing in third place.

The Guild extends its thanks to the participating LYS's for their enthusiasm and support of this event.

TKC is clearing out some summer yarns from last season so come see what is on sale! Thanks for a great Knit In Public Day! We really enjoyed host-ing our visitors.  Sue Von Ohlsen

Shawl Contest - August I'm excited about the response to my shawl contest. I'm already creating a new way to display all the beautiful shawls that people are bringing in. Allow me to display your favorite shawl(s) in ex-change for the chance to win a gift certificate. First place: $75; second place: $50; third place: $25.

Guidelines: Participants agree to have their shawl displayed during the month of August in Baa Baa Sheep LLC. Shawl knitters need to provide the following information: Name of knitter, pattern name and source, pattern’s suggested yarn, yarn used, quantity of yarn used, needle requirements. For every purchase made during the month of August, a purchaser gets one vote for her/his favorite shawl. The winners are determined by the highest number of votes received.
