Barnard Governor State Fire Marshal ARREST MADE IN CHARLES COUNTY TRAILER FIRE CHARLES COUNTY, MD (March 8, 2012) – Deputy State Fire Marshals with the assistance of the Maryland State Police have arrested James Daniel Seifert (19) for his involvement with igniting a sofa on fire inside a vacant trailer. Approximately twenty firefighters responded to a trailer fire at 15315 Buechert Place in Hughesville, Charles County on the afternoon of March 1, 2012. The one alarm fire was extinguished within thirty minutes after arrival. The fire caused approximately $1,000 in damages to the structure and contents. Investigators determined multiple individuals were inside the trailer at the time of the fire. Subsequent interviews revealed Seifert was responsible for igniting the sofa located in the living room of the trailer. Seifert was taken into custody on a warrant today at a relative’s house in Hughesville and transported to the Maryland State Police barrack in Leonardtown. He was then charged with 2 nd Degree Arson and transported to the Charles County Detention Center where he is awaiting a bond review before a District Court Commissioner. ### Media contact: Bruce D.
