2009UNIPersonalStatementThisshouldbeanexcitingpersonalstatementforyoutoread!ThiswillbemythirdtimetonetworkthroughtheUNIOverseasFair.Ihavebeenateachersince2001andallofthoseyearshavebeenininternationalschools.Iamstillsinglewithoutdependents.YoucouldsayIammarriedtomycareer.Mydirectionofteachinghasalwaysbeengearedtowardstechnologyintheclassroom,butrecentlyIhavespecializedinITCinaPYPsetting.Ihopetocontinuewiththis.MyrecentITCpositionhasallowedmetointroducemoreandmoretechnologyintheclassroom.Iteamteachwithmainstreamteachers,serveonanadministrativetechnologycommittee,helpparentsunderstandtheimportanceofdigitalliteracy,andteachITCtoabout250PYPstudents(ages3‐11).IhopeyouarelookingforanITCelementaryteacher!Withmypastexperiencesasamainstreamteacher,ESLteacher,andspecialneeds,Ihavearichunderstandingofteamwork.Teachersandadministratorsneedsomeonetofillthegapofdigitalliteracy.Iamtheliaisonbetweenthetechiesandthestaff.Iftheteachersandadministrativestaffunderstandmoretechnologytheyaremorewillingtomeettheneedsandinterestsoftheirtechsavvystudents.Teachinginthemainstreamclassroomisstillapassionforme.Iplanitintomycurrentschedule.Ifyoudon’thaveanITCpositionopen,youmayconsidermeforamainstreamupperelementaryposition.Justdon’tbesurprisedifmystudentsgetagooddoseofdigitalliteracyembeddedintothecurriculum.Finally,asacareerinternationalteacher,Ihavetostaybusy.Coachingstudentteams,servingoncommittees,planningnewteacherarrivals,andworkinginthecommunityoutreachprogramsareallthewaysIkeepbusy.Ilookforwardtohearingfromtheright“fit”.
