In enterprise layer 2 network, dual-homed link protection is often applied to improve reliability, which also increase network complexity. We must solve network “destruction” problem.
S5300support cross-device link aggregation E-Trunk (Enhanced-Trunk) , E-Trunk improve network reliability. Dispensed from ring protection protocols, like MSTP etc., it simplifies network complexity , and increase service access flexibility.
E-Trunk failure switch time is less than 100ms, each E-Trunk support up to 20 members, and max E-trunk is 16.

S5300E-Trunk simplify network hierarchy. Access devices without stacking also can enable cross-device link aggregation, device can be deployed over wiring closet, which breaks through distance restriction of stacking wire.
