10 Assembling AntennasAbout This Chapter

Before installing an antenna on a tower, you need to assemble the antenna. The antenna to be

assembled can be an omnidirectional antenna or a directional antenna.

10.1 Assembling Omni-directional Antennas

This describes how to assemble the omni-directional antenna accessories before the antenna

installation.

10.2 Assembling Directional Antennas

This describes how to assemble the directional antenna accessories before the antenna

installation.

10.1 Assembling Omni-directional Antennas

This describes how to assemble the omni-directional antenna accessories before the antenna

installation.

Prerequisite

The omni-directional antenna accessories and jumpers are ready.

Context

NOTE

There are various types of fixing clips used for omnidirectional antennas, so the installation methods are

different. The following part describes how to use fixing clips as shown in Figure 10-1 to install an omni-

directional antenna.

Procedure

Step 1 Instal two fixing clips of the omni-directional antenna, as shown in Figure 10-2.

Step 2 Connect the jumper connector with the antenna connector tightly.

Step 3 Attach engineering labels or colored rings on the joints between the antenna and the jumper. Fordetails, refer to Labeling the Antenna System or22 Installing Color Rings for the Antenna

System.

NOTE

You can also perform the opeations in Step 2 on the tower.

10.2 Assembling Directional Antennas

This describes how to assemble the directional antenna accessories before the antenna

installation.

Prerequisite

The directional antenna accessories and jumpers are ready.

Context

NOTE

There are various types of fixing clips used for omni-directional antennas, so different installation methods

can be used to meet the actual demands. The following part describes how to use fixing clips as shown in

Figure 10-3 to install the directional antenna.

Procedure

Step 1 Determine the two adjustment points at the bottom of and on the top of the antenna accordingto the labels at the rear of the antenna.

NOTE

The adjustment point at the top is used to adjust the pitch angle adjuster. The adjustment point at the bottom

is used to fix the antenna and support.

Step 2 Install the accessories in proper places in strict compliance with the accessory assembly designsprovided by the supplier.

Step 3 Connect the jumper connector with the antenna connector tightly.

Step 4 Attach engineering labels or colored rings on the joints between the antenna and the jumper. Fordetails, refer to Labeling the Antenna System or22 Installing Color Rings for the Antenna

System.
