Dear Parents and Carers, Thank you for coming to our Parent Consultation Meetings this week, I hope they were helpful to you. There was a lovely atmosphere in school and I was pleased to hear so many positive reports. Thank you! Our new P7 outdoor learning project, with Lagganlia Outdoor Education Centre, was nominated as part of the City Achievement Awards. Whilst, they did not win a prize, I am delighted their work was celebrated. To further develop our outdoor learning experiences, all P1 – P7 classes are extending their skills with trained rangers at Craiglockhart Woods. This experience will be further developed throughout the year by their class teachers. We continue to promote healthy eating in school. Staff are rewarding classes for bringing healthy snacks and eating vegetables, salads and fruit at lunchtime. There is always fruit, salad and / or vegetables as part of their school lunch. Please help us by encouraging your child to always eat some fruit and veg, as part of their lunch, to make up their ‘5 a day’. It has come to my attention scooters, bikes and vehicles are being ‘played with’ whilst in the shed in the front playground. The children have been reminded this is a storage area and the bikes are not for playing with. I have been told preschool children are playing in the sheds whilst waiting for their older brothers and sisters to come out from school. If you are waiting in the playground, please keep all youngsters out of the sheds to prevent injury and damage to property. Your help in this is much appreciated. Thank you to all who came to the Parent Council AGM and for giving your time so generously. Our Parent Council do a terrific job organising events, clubs, repairs and improvements to the school, not to mention book keeping, finances, chairing our Council and taking minutes. I appreciate all the support and help they give Bruntsfield pupils, parents and staff. We are always looking for people to join us, so…if anyone would like to be involved in helping with any events, or joining the meetings please do. Thank you to the parents who came along to the consultation meeting on Tuesday 22 September on the accommodation options for South Edinburgh Primary Schools. If you would like to look at the plans and share your thoughts, please do at www.edinburgh.gov.uk/southedinburghschool. There is a further opportunity for a group of 4- 8 parents to discuss the proposals with Learning and Teaching Scotland on Monday 26 October at 2.30 – 3.00pm. If you are interested in joining us, please let me know. If you have any concerns you would like to discuss with any of our school staff please let us know. We are all here to help. Remember, no concern is too small to share! Kind regards, Carol Kyle Montpelier, Edinburgh, EH10 4NA, 0131 229 1821 www.bruntsfield.edin.sch.uk

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for coming to our Parent Consultation Meetings this week, I hope they were helpful

to you. There was a lovely atmosphere in school and I was pleased to hear so many positive

reports. Thank you!

Our new P7 outdoor learning project, with Lagganlia Outdoor Education Centre, was nominated as part of the City

Achievement Awards. Whilst, they did not win a prize, I am delighted their work was celebrated. To further develop our

outdoor learning experiences, all P1 – P7 classes are extending their skills with trained rangers at Craiglockhart Woods.

This experience will be further developed throughout the year by their class teachers.

We continue to promote healthy eating in school. Staff are rewarding classes for bringing healthy snacks and eating

vegetables, salads and fruit at lunchtime. There is always fruit, salad and / or vegetables as part of their school lunch.

Please help us by encouraging your child to always eat some fruit and veg, as part of their lunch, to make up their ‘5 a
