WE ARE CALLED TO...

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR

THE EARTH?

CREATION & STEWARDSHIP Steward: to be responsible for the care

and well-being of another God created humans to be stewards of

the Earth Genesis 2:15. "And the LORD God took the

man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it."

“The earth will not continue to offer its harvest, except with faithful stewardship. We cannot say we love the land and then take steps to destroy it for use by future generations.” ― Pope John Paul II

“The bread which you hold back belongs to the hungry; the coat, which you guard in your locked storage-chests, belongs to the naked; the footwear mouldering in your closet belongs to those without shoes. The silver that you keep hidden in a safe place belongs to the one in need. Thus, however many are those whom you could have provided for, so many are those whom you wrong.” ― Saint Basil

At this time what is your job?

Do you feel called to do anything?

WHAT IS A VOCATION? HOW IS IT

DIFFERENT FROM A JOB?

VOCATIONS A committed state of life that God calls us to All vocations are ways to serve God Living out one’s vocation is always about loving

relationship with others, in the service of the Gospel, Church and world

“If there's one thing I've learned about all my years watching Earth, is that people aren't what they may seem. There are shop boys, and there are boys who just happen to work in a shop for the time being. And trust me Tristan, you're no shop boy. You saved my life. Thank you.”- Stardust

ST. THERESE OF LISIEUX “I feel the vocation of the warrior, the priest,

the apostle, the doctor, the martyr”.  She concluded that the foundation of all

vocation was love “I understood that love comprised all vocations,

that love was everything, that it embraced all times and places … in a word, that it was eternal.”

a good starting point to begin finding your personal call is to ask the following questions: How can I BEST be loved? How can I BEST love?

CATHOLIC VOCATIONS Priesthood (Consecrated

for Life) Takes vows to follow Christ

with an “undivided heart” Generally make 3 vows:

poverty, chastity, and obedience Religious or Consecrated Life (not

spiritual guidance; may baptize, witness marriages and

Missionary life All baptized Christians are called to be

missionaries (to witness to Christ’s love) but God calls some to a special ministry that invites them to leave their own country and culture to spread the Gospel

brothers or priests  witness to the Gospel, not simply by

preaching verbally, but by listening and learning from others
