Introducción. A. Los apóstoles querían puestos de honor

en un reino terrenal para ser servidos por otros.

Introduction. A. The apostles wanted positions of honor in an earthly kingdom so that they could be served by others.

B. Pero Jesús les dijo que los más grandes en el reino no son los que son servidos, sino los que sirven a otros.

B. But Jesus told them that the greatest in the kingdom are not those who are served, but those who serve others.

I. Cristo Jesús sirvió a otros. Mat. 20:28; Luc. 4:18, 19; Jn. 13:4, 5, 14, 15; Hech. 10:38, “anduvo haciendo el bien”; Fil. 2:7.

¡Es terrible tener la reputación de ser persona o iglesia que “no se preocupa”! ¿Será en verdad “iglesia de CRISTO?

It is terrible to have the reputation of being a person or church that “doesn’t care”! Will it be in truth a “church of CHRIST”?

Conclusión. A. Sabemos los textos. Efes. 2:10, “Creados en Cristo Jesús para buenas obras”. Sant. 2:14-26, fe sin obras está muerta.

B. Los predicamos y los discutimos, pero ¿los practicamos? ¿Qué buenas obras hacemos? ¿Cuáles pensamos hacer esta semana, mes?

B. We preach them and we discuss them, but do we practice them? What good works do we do? Which ones do we plan to do this week, month?

C. Las clases bíblicas y los sermones no nos ayudan a menos que pongamos en práctica lo que aprendemos.

Introducción. “Haya en vosotros esta actitud (sentir,

manera de pensar) que hubo también en Cristo Jesús…” Filipenses 2:5-8.

Introduction. “Have this attitude (mind, way of thinking)

in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus...” Philippians 2:5-8.

La meta: la unidad. Fil. 2:2. “haced completo mi gozo, siendo del mismo sentir, conservando el mismo amor, unidos en espíritu, dedicados a un mismo propósito”. ¿Cómo llegamos a esta meta?

The goal: unity. Phil. 2:2, “fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.” How do we attain this goal?

V. 3, “Nada hagáis por egoísmo o por vanagloria, sino que con actitud humilde cada uno de vosotros considere al otro como más importante que a sí mismo”. ¡Esta actitud promueve unidad!

V. 3, “Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself.” This attitude promotes unity!

V. 4, “no buscando cada uno solamente sus propios intereses, sino más bien los intereses de los demás”. ¡Esta actitud promueve la unidad!

V . 4, “Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” This attitude promotes unity!

Actuar sin egoísmo para beneficiar a otros. Algunas acciones obviamente no son para ayudar a otros, sino solamente agradar a uno mismo.

Act without selfishness in order to benefit others. Some actions obviously are not to help others, but only to please ourselves.

Luc. 9:23, Cristo requiere la abnegación de sí. Esto destruye el egoísmo. No promueve división sino la unidad.

Lk. 9:23, Christ requires self-denial. This destroys selfishness. It does not promote division but rather unity.

Rom. 12:10, “Sed afectuosos unos con otros con amor fraternal; con honra, daos preferencia unos a otros”. Esto no promueve división sino la unidad.

Pensar de sí mismo como SIERVO. No pensar de sí mismo como persona que debe ser servida, sino PERSONA SERVICIAL que ayuda a otros.

Think of self as a SERVANT. Don’t think of yourself as a person to be served, but as a SERVING PERSON that helps others.

Marcos 10:35-45, el MAYOR de todos es el SIERVO de todos.

Mark 10:35-45, the GREATEST of all is the SERVANT of all.

Juan 13:4, 5, 14, 15, Jesús, el Señor y Maestro, mostró su humildad lavando los pies de los apóstoles (haciendo el papel de siervo).

John 13:4, 5, 14, 15, Jesus, the Lord and Master, showed His humility washing the feet of the apostles (performing the role of a servant).

Lucas 10:30-35, el buen samaritano bien ilustra la actitud de Cristo. El sacerdote y el levita bien ilustran lo frío y la indiferencia de muchos.

Luke 10:30-35, the goos samaritan well illustrates the attitude of Christ. The priest and levite well illustrate the cold indifference of many.

Tal servicio procede no procede del egoísmo, sino de una actitud humilde, desinteresada.

Such service does not proceed from selfishness, but from a humble, selfless attitude.

Los que quieren salirse con la suya no sirven. Los que sólo piensan en sus propios intereses no sirven.

Those who want to have their own way do not serve. Those who only think of their own interests do not serve.
