The most luxurious and largest sailing ship of its time, the titanic begin her maiden voyage from Southampton to new York on April 10, 1912? On April 14, 1912, at 11:40 P.M. the Titanic hits an iceberg when about 400 miles off Newfoundland, Canada. In less than three hours, the vessel plunges to the bottom of the ocean. More than 1,500 people perished and only a small fraction of her passengers were save?
