How to Master Facebook’s Newsfeed

How the Newsfeed Works

If nobody “Likes” your updates, (or comments), nobody will even see your updates in their News Feeds

Three points to consider:-How long ago was it posted?-Does this user interact with you often?-How interactive are the engagements with the post?

Be Likeable!Rise to the top of the News Feed by literally being likeable!

Best Practices

Find Your Voice!Who do you want your brand to be?

Enthusiastic?

Funny?

Friendly?

Serious?

Young?

If you build it, will they come?

Facebook = opportunity to be where the people

are

BUT…

• How will you engage without being annoying?• How will you provide

value?• How will you see a

return?

Call to ActionGive users a reason to interact with you!

Asking users to simply “like” a post is an easy way to ask them to interact with you!

As crazy as it sounds, users will be more likely to interact with your post just because they see the word “like”.

Ask QuestionsQuestions are asking for a response. This raises your interactivity

level, and grows your page.

Provide Value

Learn about your audience, and post about topics they care about!

Don’t just try to sell to your fans! Give them a reason to keep coming back.

Promote with Value

Post Multi-media Content

Contests

When running a contest, not only will you see an increase in interaction, but you’ll also notice an increase in page views. If the winner is based on

voting, fans will consistently check your page to see their standing.

Likeable Media Found the Following…

•In 100% of cases where applicable, engagement rates for posts that asked fans to “‘Like’ this” were up to 5.5 times (on average 2.7x) higher than those for “other updates”.*

•In 9 out of 10 cases, status updates that posed a question directly to fans were up to 6 times (on average 2x) as engaging as “other updates”.

*On one page, we found a “like this” update that was actually 26.6 times more engaging than “other updates”.
