Summer Reading is for Everyone

Research has shown that children who continue to read during the summer

vacation perform better in school in the fall.

Every library will begin Summer Reading signups and special activities 2 – 4 p.m.

Central Library on Grand Army Plaza is having a Block Party 10 – 4 p.m. with performances and an appearance from Sesame Street’s Maria!

Summer Reading begins

Thursday, June 10!

Two ways to sign up:

1. Paper registration form

2. Online at www.summerreading.org

The library will use your name and birthday to create a username

for you on www.summerreading.org

Madison Smith born January 1st would log in for the first time as madsmi0101

Everyone’s password is read.

Users change their username and password when they first log in.

Registration forms in many languages are available

Players of all ages will receive small prize and be entered into systemwide prize drawings when they finish.

RIF time at their library.

Summer Reading for Adults

Adults can attend book discussions and other programs to win raffle prizes.

Studies show that young people who see adults reading are more likely to

read themselves.

End-of-Summer Celebrations

Celebrate with other Brooklyn readers!

In the last two weeks in August every library will have a celebration with entertainment

and special surprises!
