RIC hearing aids

RIC, or Receiver in Canal, hearing aids

resemble the popular BTE style are similar

in size to open-fit models.

Receiver in Canal devices are much

smaller than traditional behind the

ear models, though you might hardly

notice a difference at first glance.

Whereas a typical BTE unit sits on the

bowl of the outer ear, RIC devices hug the

upper ear with a snug fit and has a very low

profile.

The true innovation in receiver in canal units is the small dome-shaped

receiver, which is inserted into the

opening of the ear canal.

All other considerations being equal, a device

that provides "invisible" cosmetic benefits is

sure to be frequently requested.

All hearing devices need to be

matched to the wearer in order for

optimal usage.
