Lord,tonight,Wewillfaceallthatmostconcernsus:ourfears,theshadowedplacesofthemind;thecomingofwinterdarkness;thecoldthinplacebetweenwakingandsleep.Wecalltomindthepowerless,thelonely,thosewhomostfeartheknockatthedoor;allthosedeceivedbytheworld’semptypromises;allthosecowedbymenacesorthreats.

Westandwiththoseweakinbody,mindorspiritandthoseseducedbytreatsorhurtbytricks.Lord,yourlightshinesintoeverydarkness.Youtoldus:pray‘deliverusfromevil’.YourSpiritgivesushope,givesuscourage,acandleinthewindowunhurtbythewind.

Lord,today,WethankyoufortheSaintsnowgonebeforeuswhosefaithdefinedtheirlivingandtheirdying;thosewholovedyoumorethantheirownlives;thosewhoarestillmirrorsofyourlove.Wecelebratethesaintswhowalkamongusrejoicingwhiletheywalkinyourfootsteps,makingyournameknowninafracturedworld,againstinjustice,prejudice,hatred,evil.Westandwiththosewhosacrificethemselvestobringaboutyourkingdomhereonearth.Lord,yourgraceshinesinthelivesofSaints.Wethankyoufortheirexample,theirholywords.YourSpiritinspiredthem.ComeHolySpiritinspireustobesaintsinyourChurchnow.

Lord,inNovember,Wecalltomindallthosewhoselivesaredone.Wethankyouthattheirtime,nowcompleted,howevershortorlong,sadorjoyful,isgatheredup,lookedonandknownbyyou.Weofferupremembrance:thosewhoseabsencewefeeldaily;thosewhohaveshapedus;thosewhohavenurturedus;thepeoplewearegratefultohavewalkedwith;allthosewehardlyknew

butwishedwe’dknownbetter.Wegivethanksforalltheygaveandallthefutureowesthem.

Lord,yourloveembraceseverypersonwhohaseverlived;youpromisedthatyoulostnone.MayyourSpiritmakeusalwaysthankfulforallourgiftsofloveandcherishedmemory.
