Jaguar Factory Production Tour
As part of a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) project at All Hallows Catholic College, a group of our year 12 Physics students and year 7 and 8 Science club members had the opportunity to visit the Jaguar factory in Halewood. The manufacturing space at the Jaguar factory covers 300 acres and em-ploys approximately 2,000 employees. The visit to the Jaguar factory was an exciting experience for our students. They took part in a tour of the production factory to see the advanced design and technology of the as-sembly line of robots and employees used to build a Land Rover from the very beginning of blocks of steel to the final prestigious product.
The lady from Jaguar commented to staff on how well behaved and well mannered our young people were and they have been welcomed back anytime. The trip was a great success and has inspired our pupils to seek the possible career prospects that they can aspire to be apart of.

Catenian Public Speaking Competition
Congratulations to Year 12 Student Ben Mock who scooped 2nd Place and a prize of £75 for his entertaining speech 'Eccentricity is a quality to be Valued'. Our thanks and congratulations also goes to Year 13 student Kester Leek who spoke on 'The Innocent and the Beautiful have no enemy but time'.

Parents as partners
As the weather continues to be changeable, here is a reminder of our uniform policy with regards to footwear. Footwear should be black shoes, not trainers. Female students should not wear any heels greater than one inch. The ballet style shoes some of our female students are wearing are not suitable for all-day wear and are certainly not robust enough for the weather we experience at this time of year. We welcome the support of our parents in ensuring our students are dressed correctly.
Attendance Matters at All Hallows
This week college attendance has been 90.9% which is the lowest it has been all year - largely due to illness. Since September 2012 our college attendance is 94.0%
Year 7 - 93.6%
Year 8 - 92.8%
Year 9 - 90.2%
Year 10 - 91.1%
Year 11 - 86.6%
We ask that year 11 parents should discuss this with their year 11 child at this vital stage of their
studies.
Sport As part of All Hallows' Core PE Options Programme, PE students were in involved in a number of different cultural activities. Year 10 students trying American Football for the first time.

Rotary Youth Speaks Competition
The team of Year 9 students: Thomas
Hammon, Jacob Kalnins and Year 8
student Donald Kennon, performed
exceptionally well against others from
Cheshire and Greater Manchester.
Jacob presented a fascinating speech,
entitled ‘Fear’, which delved into
analysing the logic of human nature.
Donald held the audience in the palm of
his hand as quick humoured Chairman
and Thomas impressed the judges with
his sincere manner, seeing him walk
away with the award for the best vote of
thanks. The team was awarded second
place overall
Team coach; Miss Taylor said, “I am
very proud of them. They worked hard
for the competition and have done
incredibly well for their first time in a
competition such as this. I am hoping
that their success will encourage others
to take part.
