Rainforest

• Rainforests are full of trees. They are near the equator so most of them are warm and wet.

Wet weather

• All of the rain can be helpful to the many amphibians that need wet skin to live such as tree frogs.

Food finding

• Animals need trees for food. The macaw has a strong beak so it can crack open nuts.

Camouflage

• Some rainforest animals look like their homes. Camouflage helps animals stay safe.

Getting Energy

• Animals get energy by eating other plants or animals.

• An example would be a capybara eats grass and the puma eats the capybara.

More animals• The ocelot is an endangered animal.

People built on the desert where it used to live. It now calls the rainforest home.

More animals [continued]

• The giant river otter lives in rivers in the rainforest. It was once hunted for its fur.
