Day 1: It All Starts With God
Point to Ponder: It’s not about me.
Question to Consider: In spite of all the advertising around me, how can I remind myself that life is
really about living for God, not myself ?
Waking up every day is a reminder. It feels like God needs me to do something for Him in His
own will.
Day 2: You Are Not an Accident
Point to Ponder: I am not an accident.
Question to Consider: I know that God uniquely created me. What areas of my personality,
background, and physical appearance am I struggling to accept?
As an individual, I cannot accept many struggles easily. I struggle on interacting with people. A
melancholic type of person like me finds difficulty on interacting with the people and of course, just
like any other people; we want to have a right companion in life.
Day 3: What Drives Your Life ?
Point to Ponder: Living on purpose is the path to peace.
Question to Consider: What would my family and friends say is the driving force of my life ? What
do I want it to be ?
I would like to hear it from my family and friends that I can always have someone to back me
up. It would really help me a lot since it motivates me not to be scared of circumstances that can
happen to me.
Day 4: Made to Last Forever
Point to Ponder: There is more to life than just here and now.
Question to Consider: Since I was made to last forever, what is the one thing I should stop doing
and the one thing I should start doing today ?
I should stop thinking negative. From this day, I should start wearing a smile always and I wish
this brought happiness for the people around me. I should start giving the best in me. You only live
once.
Day 5: Seeing Life from God’s View
Point to Ponder: Life is a test and a trust.
Question to Consider: What has happened to me recently that I now realize was a test from God ?
What are the greatest matters God has entrusted to me ?
A while ago, I was thinking of giving up motivating my classmate not to leave the course.
Moreover, I was wondering if this is a test of friendship since the same situation happened to me
again. Déjà vu. God has entrusted me a responsibility to take an action and as this happened to me
again, I do not want to lose one of my few good friends who never treated me differently.
Day 6: Life Is a Temporary Assignment
Point to Ponder: This world is not my home.
Question to Consider: How should the fact that life on earth is just a temporary assignment change
the way I am living right now ?
My way of thinking changed after I read this part. It’s hard not to get attached with someone or
something. Temporary happiness is different from eternal happiness. For me, it does not matter if
things live shortly. We should live and enjoy every extension of this temporary life and think of it as a
blessing. Treat it as an opportunity to be a good person.
Day 7: The Reason For Everything
Point to Ponder: It’s all for Him.
Question to Consider: Where in my daily routine can I become more aware of God’s glory ?
I become more aware of God’s glory whenever somebody talks about Him.
Day 8: Planned for God’s Pleasure
Point to Ponder: I was planned for God’s pleasure.
Question to Consider: What common task could I start doing as if I were doing it directly for Jesus ?
Enjoying my life, not just enduring it makes God happy. Just pray and talk to Him often since
God has emotions too.
Day 9: What Makes God Smile ?
Point to Ponder: God smiles when I trust Him.
Question to Consider: Since God knows what is best, in what areas of my life do I need to trust Him
most ?
I need to trust God when it comes to making wise decisions in life. So that if He would guide
me into something that fits me, it would be His pleasure that I used my God-given abilities in order to
support my common goal which is to praise and make Him smile.
Day 10 The Heart of Worship
Point to Ponder: The heart of worship is surrender.
Question to Consider: What area of my life am I holding back from God ?
My sins and fear of rejection make me hold back from giving myself completely to God.
Day 11: Becoming Best Friends with God
Point to Ponder: God wants to be my best friend.
Question to Consider: What can I do to remind myself to think about God and talk to Him more
often throughout the day ?
I do not have to remind myself because God is always waiting for me to speak and it’s rude to
make someone wait. We will always share the stories and the moments that we had gone through.
Day 12: Developing Your Friendship with God
Point to Ponder: I’m as close to God as I choose to be.
Question to Consider: What practical choices will I make today in order to grow closer to God ?
Talking to Him constantly will do. It takes time, effort and energy to do so. Of course, I should
be honest of what I say and always value his teachings.
Day 13: Worship that Pleases God
Point to Ponder: God wants all of me.
Question to Consider: Which is more pleasing to God right now – my public worship or my private
worship ? What will I do about this ?
It doesn’t matter what people see about how you worship God, it’s about how He recognizes
you as a worshiper. Just continue to worship and thank Him for everything. Maintaining my
relationship with Him by doing His will is essential.
Day 14: When God Seems Distant
Point to Ponder: God is real no matter how I feel.
Question to Consider: How can I stay focused on God’s presence, especially when He feels
distant?
I will always trust God to keep His promises because I know He never breaks one. Regardless
of any circumstances, God is good. God loves me. God knows what I’m going through. He has a
good plan.
Day 15: Formed for God’s Family
Point to Ponder: I was formed for God’s family.
Question to Consider: How can I start treating other believers like members of my own family ?
We will always have the same goal. That mindset would bring us together like a family. I will
put it in my mind that I have a family who I can lean on when it comes to having faith with God.
Day 16: What Matters Most
Point to Ponder: Life is all about love.
Question to Consider: Honestly, are relationships my first priority ? How can I ensure that they are ?
Hahaha ! It’s hard to ensure that relationships are my first priority. I wish I could learn how to
love unselfishly. In my own perspective, life is graded by how we give love on different kinds of
people. It is important to deal with our relationship with them because we may learn something from
them.
Day 17: A Place to Belong
Point to Ponder: I am called to belong, not just believe.
Question to Consider: Does my level of involvement in my local church demonstrate that I love and
am committed to God’s family ?
What really matters the most is the relationship with God. Involvement in my local church is a
factor but regardless of what level of it you attain still it’s always the faith which will value. Our spiritual
family will help us to achieve our spiritual growth.
Day 18: Experiencing Life Together
Point to Ponder: I need others in my life.
Question to Consider: What one step can I take today to connect with another believer at a more
genuine, heart-to-heart level ?
Sharing my experiences and my faith to God will be a great start. If we share same
experiences and we deal the same situation, then probably it’s vital if we talk about it in order to help
each other.
Day 19: Cultivating Community
Point to Ponder: Community requires commitment.
Question to Consider: How can I help cultivate today the characteristics of real community in my
small group and my church ?
I should be a great example of being aware when it comes to considering the feelings of
others.
Day 20: Restoring Broken Fellowship
Point to Ponder: Relationships are always worth restoring.
Question to Consider: Who do I need to restore a broken relationship today ?
I need to restore my best friend’s relationship with me so I can deal with the present. Until now
it makes me bitter how he left me and how everything turned out to be one-sided at the latter part.
Day 21: Protecting Your Church
Point to Ponder: It is my responsibility to protect the unity of my church.
Question to Consider: What am I personally doing to protect unity of my church family right now ?
I encourage people to help me with the responsibility and I practice resolutions of conflicts by
how God resolves any of it.
Day 22: Created to Become Like Christ
Point to Ponder: I was created to become like Christ.
Question to Consider: In what area of my life do I need to ask for the Spirit’s power to be like Christ
today ?
It would be in terms of how I should deal with different people because I want to treat them as
equal as possible, as transparent as possible.
Day 23: How We Grow
Point to Ponder: It is never too late to start growing.
Question to Consider: What is one area where I need to stop thinking my way and start thinking
God’s way ?
I think it would be my way of sharing things. Never think selfishly. Always involve the people
around you.
Day 24: Transformed by Truth
Point to Ponder: The truth transforms me.
Question to Consider: What has God already told me in His word that I haven’t started doing yet ?
Reflecting His teachings and applying it.
Day 25: Transformed by Trouble
Point to Ponder: There is a purpose behind every problem.
Question to Consider: What problem in my life has caused the greatest growth in me ?
It was that moment when I realized how important it is to finish my studies despite of having
financial problems. This brought maturity in me.
Day 26: Growing Through Temptation
Point to Ponder: Every temptation is an opportunity to do good.
Question to Consider: What Christ-like character quality can I develop by defeating the most
common temptation I face ?
I can develop honesty by overcoming my most common temptation.
Day 27: Defeating Temptation
Point to Ponder: There is always a way out.
Question to Consider: Who could I ask to be a spiritual partner to help me defeat a persistent
temptation by praying for me ?
My spiritual partner could be my mentor. Actually, I like it when he prays for me and I always
thank him for doing that. He’s my spiritual mentor, my daddy-figure, “Tatay Arvin”.
Day 28: It Takes Time
Point to Ponder: There are no shortcuts to maturity.
Question to Consider: In what area of my spiritual growth do I need to be more patient and
persistent ?
Making it a habit to practice and develop a Christ-like character is what I need to be more
persistent.
Day 29: Accepting Your Assignment
Point to Ponder: Service is not optional.
Question to Consider: What is holding me back from accepting God’s call to serve Him ?
My other priorities as a human holds me back from serving Him. I know this could look so
selfish but I ask God for forgiveness every time I can’t make it.
Day 30: Shaped for Serving God
Point to Ponder: I was shaped for serving God.
Question to Consider: In what way can I see myself passionately serving others and loving it ?
I can see it myself by utilizing my talents and skill upon helping others. It’s a matter of time and
effort to prepare for it but the least thing you can do is encourage and support people with their God-
given talents.
Day 31: Understanding Your Shape
Point to Ponder: Nobody else can be me.
Question to Consider: What God-given ability or personal experience can I offer to my church ?
The least thing I can give to my church is the sound of my flute. If they would need a bass-
ranged singer, I’m always here. Hahahaha !
Day 32: Using What God Gave You
Point to Ponder: God deserves my best.
Question to Consider: How can I make the best use of what God has given me ?
Of course, there is always a room for improvement. First, I will improve my skills and talents.
Then, I will use it to serve people and serve God.
Day 33: How Real Servants Act
Point to Ponder: I served God by serving others.
Question to Consider: Which of the six characteristics of real servants offer the greatest challenge
to me ?
I think the fact that real servants make themselves available to serve offers the greatest
challenge to me since there will come a time when I really need to finish something. But it’s one
prayer away to ask for forgiveness if things don’t work the way it should be.
Day 34: Thinking Like Servant
Point to Ponder: To be a servant I must think like a servant.
Question to Consider: Am I usually concerned about being served or finding ways to serve others ?
I admit that I’m not that person who usually being served by others. I always find time serving
the others rather than myself because everyone must take part and serve each other.
Day 35: God’s Power in Your Weakness
Point to Ponder: God works best when I admit my weakness.
Question to Consider: Am I limiting God’s power in my life by trying to hide my weaknesses ? What
do I need to be honest about in order to help others ?
I always try to voice out my weaknesses to God so He can grant me courage, wisdom and
power. I just need to be honest about it so that I can help people with the same problem.
Day 36: Made for a Mission
Point to Ponder: I was made for a mission.
Question to Consider: What fears have kept me from fulfilling the mission God made me to
accomplish ? What keeps me from telling others the good news ?
I have this fear of failing responsibilities. This fear keeps me from telling the others how God is
good to everyone and how He loves us. I know that God would never let me down until I overcome
this fear.
Day 37: Sharing Your Life Message
Point to Ponder: God wants to say something to the world through me.
Question to Consider: As I reflect on my personal story, who does God want me to share it with ?
Since God knows me more than I know myself, I will let Him choose my companion that can
endure my long dramatic story of life. Someone who fits my personality, my way of thinking and my
perspective. Who knows ? God knows.
Day 38: Becoming a World-Class Christian
Point to Ponder: The Greatest Commission is my commission.
Question to Consider: What steps can I take to prepare to go on a short-term missions experience
in the next year ?
First, think selflessly. Be considerate of others. Then, instead of thinking excuses try to think of
creative ways to fulfill my commission.
Day 39: Balancing Your Life
Point to Ponder: Blessed are the balance.
Question to Consider: Which of the four activities will I begin in order to stay track and balance
God’s five purposes for my life ?
I’ve already started loving God with all of my heart for He is my Savior. I will worship Him and
forever.
Day 40: Living With Purpose
Point to Ponder: Living with purpose is the only way to really live.
Question to Consider: When will I take time to write down my answers to life’s five great questions ?
When will I put my purpose on paper ?
Written or not, what matters the most is that I understand why I am here and what is the
purpose of me being here. I have already put my purpose on paper. Just like a Hollywood actor, now
it is time for me to play my role as a new person, given by the script and putting myself into it. As the
story goes on, I know He would never fail me to show to everyone the greatest in me. I am His
masterpiece. God is my director.
Rich Dad Poor Dad
By Robert Kiyosaki

The story teaches us different outlooks in life that everyone must choose in order for them to
live an achieving living. People have different perspectives on their existence; different decisions to
make, ideas, and principles that reflect their persona of whom they are and of what causes them to
be of what they are now. The book tells us on how a two dissimilar man; the rich man with very little
education but financially knowledgeable, very skilled in the investment game because that is all he
did. The poor man struggle for success through education but lacks financial literacy that he spent so
much time in school learning about the problems in the world, but have not acquired any valuable
lessons about money and other financial related matters. This book reduces two fundamental
concepts: a can do attitude and fearless entrepreneurship portrayed by the two dads. The author
presents six major lessons which one must apply in one’s wits such as the rich don’t work for money,
the importance of financial literacy, minding one’s own business, importance of taxes and
corporations, on how rich people invent money and the need to work, to learn and not to work for
money.
From the beginning of the story, the author gives much emphasis on accounting knowledge. It
is a fact that no man turn out to be successful without struggling and sacrificing. Kiyosaki and Mike
depicted it as they have worked on a grocery store Mike’s father (rich dad) had offered for them for
them to avoid the “rat race” experienced at their first job. Both boys got tired of being unappreciated
but instead of giving up, both boys chose to learn the moral lesson rich dad contributed to them. This
first lesson taught us that even though some people may not be grateful for our work, never give up
but prove them your worth.
The rich do not work for money instead money works for them. This is a lesson that reveals a
reflection that most of man now a day is not committing. The poor and middle class works for money
and uses their emotion rather than thinking with emotions. Others do not see this opportunities
because they are too busy seeking for money that they never realize that life just come and go.
The teaching of financial literacy is much emphasized in the story because financial literacy
can help a person build a strong foundation by knowing the difference between an asset and liability
that financial literacy begins with a working knowledge of accounting. In relation with people, living
today, poor people remains poor because liabilities or their expenses are of large amount than that of
their assets. There is inequality between it and their whole life is devoted paying their expenses. Also
this teaches us not to mind others business. We must stand on our own and mind the things we have.
We must strive to be successful and nurture our own life. It is an unpleasant attitude that we are
involving ourselves on others’ matter when in fact we cannot even solve our own problem. Pay
yourself first and everything will follow.
On the other side, rich people make money; man must create it first not just waiting it to draw
closer. Since we were a child, our parents and even our teachers trained our minds to learn different
knowledge-based ideas in order for us to choose the best fields we would set off all trough our lives.
That we must not wait for luck; we must work for our dreams because individuals builds their own
knowledge base and therefore has more power over those who do not know. We are intelligent
enough to choose what is best for us. Before the reward, there must be labor. You plant before you
harvest. You sow in tears before you reap joy.
Work to learn, do not work for money. This is the thought shared on Chapter 7 of the book.
Many graduates graduated without any work to fill in. it is because our country can only offer a limited
jobs for their chosen fields thus majority of them end up unemployed. On the other hand, many of
them prefer to go on jobs that are not related on their chosen fields, and they are not knowledgeable
about it. They have no choice but to accept it than to have nothing at all. At first, it may be too hard for
them to adjust and thinks that it is a not the profession they are into but at the end of time, they will
realize that after all, it is another learning they may have. That there are other skills people need to
cultivate to help them on the road towards their success. That a successful man has a wide
knowledge about everything for him to be responsive and people who have a one skill are much away
from wealth.
Lastly, we must overcome obstacles that we may encounter and we must be generous with
what we have. It is generous to share, even if with small thing we have. God have offered so much. It
is true that we have gained it through great effort and we must be satisfied. Not everything is intended
to be kept but rather be shared to others. We must put our minds into thinking that: “if they can do it,
why can’t I?”
