You need to really understand your people and how they need to be

coached

When providing direction, be

consistent and objective in your

approach

Make sure the coachee is in a

receptive mood to listen

Don’t tell and watch for body

language

Agree the agenda for the coaching session together,

but ensure the coachee takes responsibility for their

actions

Discuss together where the differences are and why.

Agree on objectives, priorities, actions for development and review
