Can you tell what your partner is writing about just by looking at their first paragraph?Hint: You should make sure you know that their narrative is about their worst day ever just by looking at the very first paragraph.

Oops! Write the number of paragraphs your partner does have in the upper right hand corner of the paper. Then write the number 4 and put a circle around it.

Good catch! Put a star next to paragraphs that have fewer than two sentences.

Use a black marker and underline all places where you see dialogue (look for quotation marks) in the narrative.

That’s ok! Use a yellow mini PostIt and write “Need more dialogue” and put it on the paper.

Read this carefully:Take a large green PostIt. Write “morning, afternoon, evening” on it as if you were making a list. Then put a check mark next to the parts that are missing from the narrative. Stick this PostIt on the back of the paper.

Take a classroom glitter pen and circle all of the different describing words that you see.
