This slide deck will be used to spark conversation about teaching with technology at the 2011 NC-ACTE Conference held at the Friday Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Transcript of NC-ACTE Spring 2011 Conference

Today’s students ARE NOT the Dumbest Generation

They can be inspired by technology to ponder, imagine, reflect, analyze,

memorize, recite and create—but only after we build a bridge

between what they know about new tools

and what we know about good teaching.

If one walks into a school, can they recognize that the

students are receiving a world-class public education

that is preparing them for the global economy? What

resources are needed to make our schools world-class? Does a world-class

public education even exist?
