Issue 12 – Term 4 – Week 2 Wednesday 21 October 2020
Dear Parents, Carers and Families Welcome back to the final school term for 2020. I
would like to extend a very warm welcome to our
new students and their families.
It is great to see a relaxing of the COVID-19
Guidelines and the re-commencement of many of
the additional activities that we enjoy. We are
looking forward to our Book Week Parade, NAIDOC
activities, Year 6 Farewell, Stage 3 Active Education
Day excursion and Kindergarten and High School
transition programs. Please refer to our calendar
and other correspondence to determine the dates
for these events.
Our students have been loving creative play at
break times in our sandpit kitchen. Thank you Mr
Gandy for building a great place for us to play.
Kind Regards
Kristy Luff
Principal

Don’t forget your water bottle A reminder that our bubblers are not being used at the moment in line with COVID-19 restrictions. Students are reminded to please bring a water bottle to school. Please ensure that names are written on all drink bottles. The Strawberry Patch Our school strawberry patch is overflowing with tasty strawberries. On Monday I picked some with Mrs Mott. We washed them in my classroom and then they were ready to eat. Some strawberries tasted a bit bitter but others were super sweet and juicy. I love our school veggie garden because it is full of lots of cool and healthy stuff such as a banana tree. My favourite plant in the garden is the choc mint plant.

Student school banking will recommence on Tuesday 20 October
Student banking is a great way to encourage good savings behavior. Students will receive a silver coloured ‘Dollarmites’ token every time they make a deposit to their savings account at school, regardless of the amount deposited. When they have collected 10 tokens, they can redeem them for a variety of exclusive ‘Dollarmites’ reward items including:
Wallets
Torches
Handballs
Calculators
Knuckles game
Moneyboxes
Headphones
Please ensure that the student name, student number and deposit amount are clearly written on the inside of the ‘Dollarmites’ deposit book. On Tuesday mornings students give the yellow deposit wallet to the classroom teacher who will then in turn send it to the office where it will be collected and processed by our P&C volunteer member.
School Values – PRIDE BADGES Our School Values:
Four PBL values – Respect, Responsibility, Learning and Safety
Teachers will award PBL Awards or Achievement Awards to students from their class each week.
Students from Years 2-6 who have Values Awards from the old system may use these towards a badge / charm.
All students K-6 need 5 Awards to attain the PRIDE badge, then 3 Awards for each charm.
Charms will be issued in the order of spelling PRIDE.
Awards must be handed into the office and will be stamped and signed to show they have been used to attain a badge / charm.
Awards can not be used more than once.
Congratulation to Students: Simeon – ‘P’ charm Roma – ‘R’ charm Zahra – Quality Student Badge and ‘P’ charm Crystal – Quality Student Badge and ‘P’ charm
