PRESENTATION OF THE RANGEBurners in the M series are particularly efficient and compact 1-or 2-stage, burners designed to obtain high yields and highcombustion quality. They are designed for use on all boilers ofwhatever make, but are particularly well-suited for use with DeDietrich boilers. The M 100 S is more particularly suited to the GT 120/1200range of boilers, the M 200 S to the GT 210/2100 range, theM 30 S to the GT 300/II range, the M 40 S to the GT 400 andGTE 500 ranges (with an output lower than 1050 kW) and theM 50 to the GTE 500 range.
The design of M 100 S, 200 S, 30 S and 40 S bur-ners makes it possible to obtain:- High efficiency and performances, stable over time• New combustion head enabling an optimum combustive air /
fuel oil mixture• The Duo-Press system enables high pressure levels for low
outputs, whence improved start-up properties and clean, stable combustion
• M 30, M 40: air flow set at the fan outlet opening using ahemispherical system with proportional adjustment
- Compact burners• Transverse fan with optimized dimensions• Duo-Press system ensuring high available flow and pressure
in a compact volume • Intelligent disposition of components
- Very easy to assemble, install, and service• Attachment to the boiler using a sliding flange• Mains connection using a plug pre-wired to European stan-
dards (2 plugs on 2-stage models)• All components grouped on a holder plate• Horizontal position for quick maintenance of the components
holder plate with vertical position for the nozzle line• Easy access to all components• Maintenance position quickly achieved thanks to the 5 quar-
ter-turn screws on the component holder plate• Use of a single male spanner (hexagonal - 4 mm) to make
all adjustments (including fuel oil pressure), assemblies anddisassemblies
• Easy adjustments using sliding graduated gauges and simpli-fied servomotor.
- Silent running- for M100 S, M 200 S:• Integrated noise-absorber• Air guide at the flame tube inlet
- and for all burners• Soundproofed hood covering all components• Combustive air inlet with phonic insulation foam
The design of the M 50 burner offers:- Simpified installation and maintenance thanks to various tech-nological choices• Guidance system offering quick, easy access to the nozzle
line without removing the burner from the boiler• Optional adjustment of the burner with the hood closed,
using the air inlet located outside the burner• Easy adjustment of the combustion air inlet using a 3-position
jack• Adjustment of the combustion head using a graduated screw
located on the boiler flange • Full accessibility to the electrical components hidden away
under a waterproof hood- The built-in control panel includes• Display of the operating phase• Control of the ignition cycle• Indicator of the number of hours of burner operation• Identification of breakdowns
- Safety and comfort are ensured by certain careful technologi-cal choices• Electric motor protected by a manual reset thermal relay• Safety control box with warning light and reset button• Flame control cell• Air flap with automatic closure when the burner stops• Inversed fan blades providing a low noise level (78.5 dB(A)).

PRINCIPLE OF THE DUO-PRESS® SYSTEM FITTED TO THE VARIOUS FUEL OIL BURNERS (EXCEPT M 50 S)The fan sucks air in to force it back into the combustion headunder pressure. Combustive air is sucked into chamber 1, sepa-rated from chamber 2 by the deflector 3. As the static pressurein chamber 1 is very high, the air drawn in by the fan gathersconsiderable force which will enable it to overcome the counterpressure in the combustion chamber. However, the part of thisair that does not acquire sufficient force is then taken back intothe fan thanks to the partial vacuum which is created in cham-ber 2. The air thus re-injected is again accelerated by the fanand drawn towards the combustion head.
AdvantagesThe DUO-PRESS system makes it possible to raise low air flowsto very high pressure levels and thus easily overcome the highcounter pressures each time the burner is ignited. Furthermore, this fan system is not particularly sensitive to atmospheric varia-tions, thus providing excellent performances even at high altitu-des.

FUEL OIL CONNECTION
The burners are delivered with 2 connection hoses, one forintake, the other for return to the tank. The fuel oil connectioncan be made using dual tubes. However, the fuel oil pumpon the burner can be converted into a single tube version ifyou wish to make this type of connection.
Each hose measures one meter in length and includes aremovable connector at its extremity.A filter must be fitted to the fuel oil intake in order to preventthe injection nozzle from clogging.

Leak proof tank with a minimum capacity equal to the total storage capacity
Metal tank:For more than 1500 litres, use a room reserved exclusively forthe storage of fuel oil. Plastic tank: Whatever their capacity, these must be located in a room which is reserved for their exclusive use.
The intake diameter and length of the pipes depend on theposition of the bottom of the tank in relation to the fuel oilpump serving the burner (static intake height). The bottomof the tank is located either higher than the burner (loadfunction) or lower than the burner (total intake function). The static intake height can therefore be positive, zero, ornegative. For burners in the M… ranges, the tables belowshow the lengths available for 3 commonly used diametersof copper piping, depending on the static intake height. The lengths shown have been calculated based on the lossof load of a valve, an non-return flap, 4 elbow joints andan average fuel oil density of 0.8.

Increasing the altitude is equivalent to increasing the intakedepth for negative static heights. The available length ofthe intake pipe will therefore be reduced. The table belowindicates the increase in intake depth for altitudes higherthan 700 m, depending on the variation in altitude.
Important: When the tank is located at a level higher thanthat of the burner, the installation must be fitted with anemergency stop device in compliance with the EN 264standard or the equivalent prevailing local regulations.

AERATION
This must comply with the prevailing local regulations.Examples based on DTU 65.4. (France)Top and bottom aeration compulsory
– Top aeration:Cross section equal to half of the total cross sec-tion of the flue gas conduits with a minimum of2,5 dm2.
– Bottom aeration: Direct air inlet: S (dm2) ≥ 0,86 P
20P = Installed power in kW
The location of the air inlets in relation to the upper ventila-tion openings must ensure that the air is refreshed in theentire volume of the boiler room.

OPTIONS
Use flexible cables according to the EN 60 335-1 stan-dard. All cables should be connected to the burner termi-nal block and must be secured with cable clips.A manually controlled circuit breaker (not provided) mustbe used to isolate the installation during maintenance, cleaning and repair work. It must simultaneously cut off all
unearthed conductors. For installations fitted with a 230 V-50 Hz three phasepower supply, the star coupling to the motor must be modi-fied into a triangle coupling. The adjustment of the thermalrelay must therefore also be changed.
➩ Electrical connection for M 50 S burners
Connecting the burner cable coming from the DIEMATIC-m DELTA control panel on the GTE 500 to the M 50 S terminal block
the 7 + 4 pin power relays should be removed as the wiring is done wire by wire according to the following diagram.
