Recent Office Events

A KENSINGTON GARDEN,WEST LONDONA recently finished project in a largeLondon house has come into its ownover the summer months. What wasonce a damp, tired and somewhatneglected piece of land is now astunning lawned garden andterrace with barbeque area. TheEA team have cleverly created aharmonious link between theoutside and inside by usingdesign details complementary tothose used in the interior of thehouse, such as similar joinery, cabinetry, materials and choiceof colours. Subtle touches suchas the lighting under the stepsallows the garden to be gentlyilluminated at night, enabling theowners to enjoy the outside spaceat all times of day and evening.

INTERNATIONAL ON-SITERIVER WORKS Work has begun on the revetmentand restoration of 1km of riverbank at a residential estate outsideof the UK. These images show thefirst stages of installation of willowspiling (woven living willow) to forma living, growing structure whichresists and deflects water flow, allowing the bank to naturallyre-generate and stabilise, preventing further erosion. Thewillow has only been in for a fewweeks and has already sprouted sois looking promising for next spring. The revetment process of spilinghas been extremely sustainable, with almost all of the willow beingused having been harvested froma low lying area within the sitewhich in stage two is to becomethe lake catchment point for all ofthe rainwater run off from site, andtreated using a reed bed to increasethe water quality before it isdispensed back into the river.Stage 1 river works will be nearingcompletion in November.
