We aim to produce appealing and appropriate designs that enhance the health and well-being of the existing landscape, for today and for the future. Recent Office Events A KENSINGTON GARDEN, WEST LONDON A recently finished project in a large London house has come into its own over the summer months. What was once a damp, tired and somewhat neglected piece of land is now a stunning lawned garden and terrace with barbeque area. The EA team have cleverly created a harmonious link between the outside and inside by using design details complementary to those used in the interior of the house, such as similar joinery, cabinetry, materials and choice of colours. Subtle touches such as the lighting under the steps allows the garden to be gently illuminated at night, enabling the owners to enjoy the outside space at all times of day and evening. INTERNATIONAL ON-SITE RIVER WORKS Work has begun on the revetment and restoration of 1km of river bank at a residential estate outside of the UK. These images show the first stages of installation of willow spiling (woven living willow) to form a living, growing structure which resists and deflects water flow, allowing the bank to naturally re-generate and stabilise, preventing further erosion. The willow has only been in for a few weeks and has already sprouted so is looking promising for next spring. The revetment process of spiling has been extremely sustainable, with almost all of the willow being used having been harvested from a low lying area within the site which in stage two is to become the lake catchment point for all of the rainwater run off from site, and treated using a reed bed to increase the water quality before it is dispensed back into the river. Stage 1 river works will be nearing completion in November.
