Exodus 33:18-22

“Man’s main aim is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever.”

That what living is all about. Isaiah 43:7 says us that God created us

for His glory. I Corinthians 10:31 “…whatever you do,

do it all for the glory of God.” Through man the glory of God can be

seen.

One meaning is to praise and honour God for something done.

You acknowledge that He is the reason for your success.

The glory of God is also the beauty of His Spirit.

It is not an aesthetic or material beauty, it is the beauty that emanates from His character.

Ex.33:18…“Please show me your glory” God responded in Exodus 33:19 God’s glory is revealed in His attributes. His glory is revealed in His name. God’s glory is revealed when His children

Bear His Name, His Character and His Attributes.

I Corinthians 11:7 “…man is the image and glory of God.”

Glory is from God and not man, material things and creation itself.

God cannot stand the idea that glory came from anything else – Isaiah 42:8

Romans 1:23-23 - The glory of God is exchanged for the glory of man.

James 1:10 - The glory of man fades away.

Jeremiah 9:23-24 - The Lord Himself tells us in what we ought to glory.

1. Bear fruit – John 15:8/Colossians 1:10

2. Abstain from sin – 1 Corinthians 6:19/20

3. Give praise to God – Psalm 50:23/ 2 Samuel

12:26-31

4. Pray according to God’s will – John 14:13

5. Be Content – Philippians 4:11 John 11:4/Romans8:18

6. Proclaim God’s word – 2 Thessalonians 3:1

7. Lead others to Christ – 2 Corinthians 4:15

God tells Moses to stand in the cleft of the rock – Exodus 33:21-22.

That Rock was Christ – 1 Cor.10:4/Psalm 62:2.

Jesus is the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person – Hebrews 1:3.

2 Corinthians 3:18 “…from glory to glory.” He is our example of a life lived to glorify

the Father – John 17:4-5.
